Read More NewsThe third session of the 2025-2026 Readers Meet the Author series will take place Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., and feature Dr. Beth Allison Barr, Baylor University James Vardaman Endowed Professor of History. Barr will speak about her latest book, “Becoming the Pastor’s Wife: How Marriage Replaced Ordination as a Woman’s Path to Ministry” (Brazos Press, 2025), in conversation with Charles J. and Eleanor McLerran DeLancey Dean and Holder of the William M. Hinson Chair of Christian Scriptures, Dr. Todd Still. The session will be held in the Schumacher Flex Commons of Moody Memorial Library and available online via Zoom Webinar. A time for Q&A, reception with light refreshments, and a book signing will follow the conversation. The Readers Meet the Author series is presented by the Office of the President and the Office of the Provost and hosted by the Baylor Libraries.
Data Privacy Week, an annual cybersecurity awareness campaign coordinated by the National Cybersecurity Alliance, encourages individuals to manage their privacy settings, measure the tradeoff between privacy and convenience when using apps, and remain aware of data exposure through online platforms. The initiative also educates businesses on data collection best practices that respect data privacy and promote transparency.
Russian Historian and Interpreter Alyona (Helena) Kojevnikov, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Host from 1971 to late 1990s and Keston Institute Information Officer and trustee member, died at the age of 82 after being admitted to the Conquest Hospital during a downturn in her course of cancer treatment in Hastings, England, United Kingdom on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., the Dean of Libraries, Museums, and the Press welcomes Tara Beth Leach, Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd Church, Patricia M. Batten, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Ranked Adjunct Assistant Professor of Preaching and Associate Director of the Haddon W. Robinson Center for Preaching, and Matthew D. Kim, Professor of Preaching and Pastoral Leadership at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, along with Angela Reed, Truett Seminary’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Practical Theology. The panelists will participate in an engaging conversation with Baylor University President Linda Livingstone, about their work editing the new publication, “We Follow Christ: Helping Women to Discern God’s Call” (Baylor University Press, 2025). The event will be held in the Great Hall of George W. Truett Theological Seminary and available online via Zoom Webinar. A time for Q&A, reception with light refreshments, and a book signing will follow.
