The Herbold Foundation
This foundation was formed in 2003 and its primary focus is to provide fellowships to exceptionally talented graduate students who are majoring in engineering/computer and data science. Each year, about 50% of the funds we disburse go to a growing number of hand-selected universities. At each of these schools, the Herbold Foundation funds 7 to 12 Masters or PhD students. The other 50% of the annual disbursement of the funds goes to 501c3 non-profits in a variety of areas. We do not entertain proposals; universities and non-profits are selected by the Foundation’s Board.
The Herbold Group
This LLC was formed in 2003 and has served as the entity in which all of my publishing, speaking, and consulting activities have been managed. Currently that activity is being phased out as most of my time is spent on: 1) the Herbold Foundation – selecting schools and working with the Deans to insure effective implementation of the fellowships; and 2) managing the financial assets of the Herbold Foundation and personal assets.
