Bringing Healing to the Underserved

I appreciate that everything was centered on and around prayer! Hearing stories of how God is working across the US encourages me to continue thinking about how I can join God in his work.

I love listening to all of the wonderful perspectives and feeling less alone in caring about communities like those I grew up in.

I value the conferences the most. I value building and renewing the many relationships with similarly-called individuals from around the country as we share what’s going on, learn together, and encourage and pray for one another. I value the opportunity to bring our staff and interns to the conference to learn and worship together and to hear God’s word from a plenary or a devotional. And it’s exciting to see students and residents learn, think, be challenged and ultimately begin to grasp a vision for living out the gospel through healthcare among the poor.

The Executive session was the best part of the conference for me. I learned about critical issues from experts and it's the best presentation I've received. Thank you for bringing dynamic people to engage and share critical information that we need.

While I was a student, God used the CCHF conference to help heal and restore me. As a licensed psychologist, God has used CCHF to sustain me in the important work of providing mental health services to those on the margins of our society. I now pray that God will use me to do the same for the upcoming generations of healthcare providers, frontline staff, administrators, and others.

It is great to meet students and professionals who wanted to pour into my journey and provide encouragement, and even challenge me to keep thinking about my vocation. I am grateful for the chance to learn from the wisdom of people who have gone before me and serve as role models in the faith!

I love that the conference is Christ-centered and we are free / encouraged to incorporate our faith into the business of running these clinics. The networking is also very important. And then I learn new tips every time. I know that's three things, but I couldn't pick just one.

I deeply value the sense of connection that CCHF fosters among those involved in this movement. One of CCHF’s greatest strengths is the way it builds genuine community and facilitates meaningful relationships across different contexts. It has done an incredible job at getting students interested and mobilizing them. It has also played a vital role in encouraging students to visit and engage with our site, which has been a real gift to our work. Personally, I’ve grown a great deal as a leader through my involvement with CCHF—especially in understanding how to lead faithfully and effectively in our unique setting. Lastly, I think CCHF has done a great job being a big tent that welcomes and strengthens individuals and organizations.

I have always seen CCHF as our organization. Those of us doing missional medicine in the US. My favorite CCHF characteristics are its focus on encouraging the workers here by reminding them of their agency and authority as members of Christ's body, calling them up from complacency to focus on the truth of the gospel and how that should be lived out locally, and the strong focus on training, mentoring, discipling young people to prepare them to come after us. CCHF helps us keep our eyes focused on the why and the how of our true calling.

Convicting, inspiring, and encouraging. I feel challenged to start living radically different in response to the Gospel and how followers of Jesus are called to live lives of sacrifice and service of the poor and vulnerable. I feel inspired by the model of faith and service that so many are modeling. I feel encouraged to grow in intimacy with Jesus and to respond to His love in service, rather than trying to earn His love through service.

First time attendee here as well! Excited to be with other passionate believers. I’m a brand new Executive Director at a soon-to-be opening charitable clinic! Super new at … well, everything … but we’re thrilled to be part of this community.

I love the meeting and the fellowship of others who are called to similar work---hard work with complex patients in settings of few resources, underpaid/overworked but who feel that it is sacred work among people that struggle to get care, much less compassion, from our society. It is a form of Resistance (or Rebellion—not sure which is more apt) against the powers of darkness and yet we are not equal to the task. So instead of being simply a group of people who resist with anger and protests, we are a group who seeks to follow Jesus in His ways of healing. This is a group of Believers who ‘understand’ me in my calling in a unique way that offers fellowship to me.

God told me, "You are NOT alone! There are people on mission for Jesus all around you. Do not fear.
