I just checked out the comments, so I will be the first one to write these. This album is musically fantastic sensually. But the audio is such a crap, started with Wind and Wuthering, then this worse, and then worse and worse. I would curious, if Steve Short, David Hentschel was drunk or got some ear problems by mastering these, but why the guys did not care? If this album would sound like a usual Vertigo release for instance, or just at the same level like Trick of The Tail, this album would worth now at least 5 times more. Such a shame.

It’s bright, but with the right cartridge there’s no sibilance and the sound-stage is huge. Vinyl quality seems good too as very little surface noise nor pops/clicks and I have had this one since Reagan & Thatcher were in power. Have heard some truly awful versions of this album including the Davis remix being used in recent decades, you could do far worse than an Aussie 80s virgin reissue.

Bought this used and was surprised by how phenomenal the fidelity is. The MO is a quality pressing, at least on my system.

This sounds far better than the German (first) pressing I got when the record came out. This one has more warmth and depth in the low regions, and it sounds less harsh in the highs.
It was my first Genesis album and I still like it. I can recommend this pressing.

Lots of criticism for these US pressings but I find this disc just needs some EQ adjustment, push the bottom end and drop some mids and it's a nice listen. Had one decades ago and then found a still sealed copy in 2021 for $12. Well worth it.

It's not very good at all.. Quite tinny and lacking in bass, which would be understandable given this is a long album. Most of the record is very sibilant however, and it's riddled with surface crackle and pops despite being visually NM. Get a Japanese press.
