The mission of the Environmental Charter School is to educate each student to high academic standards using innovative curricula that will foster knowledge, love of, and respect for the environment and preserve it for future generations. We grow citizens.
The Environmental Charter School envisions every one of its graduates being an actively engaged citizen driving thoughtful change in the world around them.

The Environmental Charter School (ECS) announced that Kristen Maser has been appointed director of communications for the organization. She will formally assume the role on February 11 and will be working with the interim director of communications to ensure a seamless transition.

The Environmental Charter School (ECS) announced today that Jessica Keele has been named assistant principal at its Intermediate School, a role she formally assumed on January 7.

At a recent VEX IQ Robotics Competition held at Woodland Hills High School, ECS was well represented, with seven teams competing among a total of 32 teams from across the region.

ECS announced that Vicky Hsieh has been elevated into a newly created senior leadership position, Chief of Innovation & Technology Services, effective immediately. The position will help ECS strengthen learning, spark creativity, and support technology systems across the school.

The Environmental Charter School (ECS) recently announced that it plans to begin negotiating a lease agreement that will allow it to move its middle and high school program to the Elmhurst Innovation Center along the Monongahela River.
If agreement is reached, transition to the new campus is anticipated for the 2027-28 school year.
