Lambda agri is the brainchild of Dr Monica Saavedra and Dr Boris Breiner, having its beginning in 2022, when a postdoc passed by and said “plants like red light”. At the time Lambda was creating quantum dot-based solutions for converting UV into red light. Upon realising the lack of economic viability of this approach, the team switched their focus to designing non-toxic, biodegradable and highly scalable chemicals for use in agriculture, the lower-hanging fruit.

Since then Lambda has multiple patents with more in the works, as it establishes itself as an IP platform technology business, eventually reaching sectors beyond agri.
