Venture capital for early stage enterprise technology companies

About us

Angular is a specialist venture capital firm, and we're looking to back a very specific type of company: Enterprise-oriented. If your business requires consumer adoption, it's not for us. We back companies that sell products and services to other companies. Deep technology. We are firm believers in the value of meaningful barriers to entry, and we know there are a lot of ways to define and construct those barriers. Born in Europe or Israel. We know that great innovation can come from anywhere. Our focus is on companies born on the "right" side of the Atlantic, specifically in Europe or Israel. Global ambition. While it's possible to build a great business without targeting a global opportunity, we are exclusively focused on companies that are chasing a truly global opportunity. In most cases, this means a focus on US market entry from day one. Outstanding founding teams with domain expertise. We believe that great founders are the main driver of success for any entrepreneurial venture. We like "well-rounded" founders, but tend to prefer founders that are "angular," bringing unique technical or domain expertise to bear. Early stage. We like to be very early. We are not religious about being first, but most of our investments are into companies that have raised less than $1M before we engage.

Usually we present at #oilandgas conferences but sometimes we present at #tech conferences like WebSummit LLC. Industrial Autonomy for Critical Energy Infrastructure starts now and has ever increasing importance to the Tech sector given the AI boom. Data centers need energy... - 83% of our global energy supply is oil and gas - 70% of that energy is moved via pipelines Enabling human-centered industrial autonomy for oil and gas pipeline control room operators is a no brainer to maximize energy flow through our existing critical energy infrastructure, ensuing we have the energy security the tech sector needs to enable this AI revolution, and we are proud to be backed by M12, Microsoft's Venture Fund to make it happen. 🎉 Some very big news: Vault Platform is being acquired by Diligent. Vault was founded to help organizations run the ethical businesses their people and shareholders deserve. Today, we’re taking a major step forward to fulfill that mission. I’ll soon share more about the compliance powerhouse we’re building together — thanks to the vision & leadership of Amanda Carty, Brian Stafford and Ron Rogozinski. But right now, I want to reflect on the most epic period of my life and the magical company I was lucky to build alongside extraordinary humans. For over 6 years, I poured myself into Vault. When I started, I didn’t know what being a founder truly meant, or how steep is the hill I'm about to climb. Through a pandemic, an economic downturn, and a war that crushed my nation’s heart — the struggle was real. So was the joy of building something from scratch. Vaulties — past and present, the biggest privilege of my life has been your trust in my leadership. Please know that I never took it for granted. I surrounded myself with the smartest, most creative and driven people I know, and every day I learned something new from you all. Thank you for making space for my strongly-held opinions at times, and at other times, for allowing me to admit that I have no idea how to solve a problem - and for figuring it out together. Thank you for coming to our little rock band and for playing your best music. To our first-class investors — especially our board and lead investors Illuminate Financial, Gradient, Kindred Capital VC, and Angular Ventures — thank you for being true partners. You lived up to the promise of what early stage investors should be. And to our customers — thank you for choosing to side with better. You put Vault on the map. Under Diligent, your return on investment in us is only going to grow. It would be a remiss of me to thank specific individuals, because the list of people who’ve been instrumental to this journey is truly endless. I got to meet incredible founders, investors, operators, and all sorts of experts in their field, and I was surprised to find out how generous people are with their time and advice. But there are two individuals that Vault couldn’t have done without. Tori Reichman - Vault’s first commercial hire, has turned into the most empowering business partnership . Reichman, I’d choose you as my running partner again and again, on any given day. Diligent are fortunate to win you as a tech executive, and I’m so lucky to keep on building by your side. Rotem Hayoun-Meidav, it was your tech mastermind that Vault was built with in its first leg of the journey; and it was your belief in me that made me go through the second leg. Vault, a Diligent Brand is entering a bold new chapter. Product roadmaps, GTM plans and business models are in motion — but for now, my heart is just full of gratitude. “…ומה היה הכל אם לא פרישה איטית של הכנפיים?”

Top enterprise tech news worth reading this week: - OpenAI’s just released Codex “a cloud-based software engineering agent that can work on many tasks in parallel“. This is not built to replace software engineers, but as a tool for them. - Perplexity is raising $500M at a $14B valuation, betting big on AI-native search... While also burning a ton of money to achieve its growth. - New Stanford research shows 44% of US unicorns were immigrant-founded... and Israeli founders lead per capita (by a lot!). Get the full stories in this week’s newsletter, linked in the comments below. Don’t forget to subscribe!

It’s not every day you see Aquant in the headlines, but today, it’s front and center in Business Insider. I’m excited to see Aquant featured in this in-depth piece on how AI is changing the game in manufacturing. The article highlights something we see every day: AI isn’t just a “nice-to-have” anymore, it’s become mission-critical. It’s helping manufacturers prevent downtime, protect margins, and stay agile in a world where every minute of uptime matters. At Aquant, we’ve spent years training AI on the language of service, capturing the insights of the best techs and surfacing them at scale. It’s incredible to see that work recognized, and even more incredible to see our customers leading the way. We’re just getting started. Checkout the full article here: https://hubs.la/Q03mrXD40

    View profile for Amit Saar

    Co-founder & CEO at OpenOps

🚀 New Launch Alert 🚀  OpenOps now integrates with Claude, ChatGPT, and other LLMs. How exactly? That’s actually the best part, you can now: ✨✨✨ Bring Your Own AI (BYOAI) to OpenOps ✨✨✨ You can now connect the LLM that you already trust to OpenOps, and use it to help you write CLI commands and SQL queries, CUR queries and more - while building automated OpenOps workflows. We strongly prefer the BYOAI approach over shipping proprietary products that are essentially GPT wrappers with no real added value. A lot of what AI enables today can be done with the user in control — without handing everything over to more third-party models. We listened to our community and customers on this and as we promised - we continue to deliver more and more value through our open-source project and we prove once again - “OpenOps Is Going Open Source” is not just a tagline - it’s a continuous endeavor to deliver value to the community - in order to build automations like no one could before. With BYOAI, you can: ✅ Get help from your AI in building OpenOps workflows ✅ Ask any technical question without leaving OpenOps ✅ Use top-tier frontier models ✅ Avoid exposing your data to yet another vendor ✅ Build your AI stack — not someone else’s If we ever release features based on proprietary models, there will be a clear reason why they can’t be done with popular models. For what we’re releasing now? There’s no need. This is just the first step. We will be adopting all the industry standards we see forming for the new AI software stack - all with one thing in mind - helping practitioners build and run automations safely and govern their cloud. Links to our GitHub, Docs and Slack community in the first comment. Stay tuned and follow for more.
