At #NADC25, we had the privilege of connecting with athletic directors from across the country and around the world, and once again, we were reminded of just how dedicated, innovative, and solutions-focused this community is. Huge congratulations to Sheila P. from the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, PA, our iPad giveaway winner! We hope it makes your day-to-day just a little bit easier. Throughout the weekend, a few themes stood out in our conversations: 📢 Communication is still the backbone of everything. From coordinating with coaches and parents to managing schedules and emergency notifications, ADs told us they're looking for platforms that centralize communication without adding complexity. 🎯 Simplicity matters. Schools are moving away from juggling multiple disconnected tools and toward solutions that work seamlessly across their entire department. 🔒 Privacy and safety are non-negotiable. Athletic directors are increasingly concerned about protecting their communities from the noise, ads, and bad actors that come with public social platforms. They need communication tools they can trust to keep their groups secure and insulated. GroupSpot was built for exactly these challenges. Our platform helps athletic departments streamline communication, reduce administrative burden, and keep everyone (coaches, parents, students, and staff) on the same page, all while providing the peace of mind and trust that administrators and families deserve. Curious how GroupSpot works for Athletic Departments? Check out: https://lnkd.in/emWtEg5g Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth! These conversations energize us and remind us why we do what we do.

Our Cofounder & CEO, Mark Kossick, recently spent an evening with one of our favorite communities, the Naples Ladies Social Group. With over 1,000 active members, they're a shining example of what thriving community engagement looks like on GroupSpot. These face-to-face connections remind us why we do what we do.
While Maggie Liljegren and I were in Tampa for the National Athletic Directors Convention over the weekend, we made a detour to Naples Monday night to spend time with our friends from the Naples Ladies Social Group. With more than 1,000 members, they are one of the most active communities on GroupSpot. Their calendars are packed with events, they collect dues and event payments, and they rely heavily on signups and RSVPs. They will also be our beta testers when we roll out a true member reservation system in 2026. This group opened our eyes to the incredible opportunity within women’s groups and social clubs. Their success helped pave the way for other thriving communities such as The Women of Quail Creek in Arizona and the Woman’s Club of Tewksbury Township in New Jersey. These are large, highly engaged groups that come alive on GroupSpot. I had the chance to share our company story with a thoughtful and engaged group of members right by the beach. They asked deep questions ranging from affiliate marketing opportunities to security protections. No softballs! We also talked about ways to do more with GroupSpot, from launching new groups to following our journey on Instagram at @groupspot, picking up some merchandise, and even becoming ambassadors and stakeholders in the company. It was a lovely evening with one of our favorite communities. Special thanks to their leadership team Maureen Sullivan, Emily Rosenstock Peltz , and Lisa Trachtenberg, for making it all possible, and to my entrepreneur sister Alicia Kossick and my cheerleader mom for coming out to support and help make the evening a success. Moments like these are a powerful reminder that the best companies are built hand in hand with the communities they serve.

Our Cofounder & CEO Mark Kossick shares a pivotal moment in GroupSpot's journey and the advice that shaped our product development approach. A great reminder that the best products are built alongside the people who use them.
I want to congratulate Neal Mohan on this incredible recognition. He is every bit as humble and brilliant as the Time Magazine piece suggests, and he once gave me the best piece of tech advice I have ever received. https://lnkd.in/gUZku4dG Neal and I first crossed paths years ago when I was at the NBA. We stayed in touch after I left, and when we had the earliest version of GroupSpot (then Kohort), he invited me to show him what we were building at his YouTube office in New York City. We talked about the growing need for a platform like ours. At the time, he was on WhatsApp and Instagram to stay connected, and he mentioned how his son’s class dad chat on WhatsApp was blowing up his phone. We also discussed one of his professional groups, an engineer community that struggled to manage dues and keep its large audience engaged. Then came the moment of truth, showing YouTube’s Chief Product Officer, now CEO, a minimum viable product of our app. He noticed some limitations, but he also saw potential. He said he was impressed with what I showed him. I suppose it didn’t hurt that our entire app has been built on Google’s Flutter technology. And then came the advice I will never forget. He encouraged us to get the product into the hands of real users as quickly as possible. Even if it was only halfway there, he told us to put it out in the real world, gather feedback quickly, and let those insights drive our roadmap. He was absolutely right, and we followed that advice. Yes, that approach led to some early abandonment, but we also won over way more users who decided early on they were in for the journey and loved watching the progress in real time. Their feedback guided our earliest decisions, exactly as Neal predicted. Fast forward to today. GroupSpot has been downloaded more than 165,000 times, the app has strong ratings and reviews in the app store, and a growing ARR subscription business. We believe we are well positioned to secure a proper Seed Round in 2026. Many people have helped us reach this point, from early believers and family investors to our earliest adopters who’ve become power users. But at the top of my list is Neal Mohan. I am grateful for his advice, his encouragement, and the reminder that all great products are built hand in hand with the people who use them. Neal’s guidance left a mark on our journey, and this recognition could not be more deserved.

Music, Momentum, and a Mighty New Partnership at Michigan: Last weekend, Grammy-winning Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith returned to his Michigan roots to launch a new partnership between his foundation and the University of Michigan - School of Music, Theatre & Dance. He then performed Can’t Stop alongside the Michigan Marching Band, followed by an electric take on The Victors. Both are worth a watch: 🎵 Can’t Stop: www.youtube.com/watch 🥁 The Victors: https://lnkd.in/e2mqZb_j We’re proud that GroupSpot has a front row seat to this community in action. This fall marked our first year supporting Michigan’s marching band, under the leadership of Director John Pasquale. Even as brand new users, they quickly onboarded multiple groups including their marching, pep, and alumni bands. We’re now growing our work with Michigan through Jason Fettig, Professor of Music and Director of Bands. This spring, Jason will lead a regional College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) event hosted at Michigan, and they will be among the first to use our new Registration feature launching in just a few weeks. From managing multiple ensembles to powering large events, we love supporting programs that bring music, community, and tradition to life. Excited for what’s next, Go Blue. 💛💙
