🎅 This December, we’re running for remembrance — and hope. On Sunday 7th December 2025, our Liverpool Bereavement Service team and dedicated volunteers will be joining thousands across the city for the Liverpool Santa Dash, raising funds to support those coping with grief and loss. Last year, together with your generosity, we raised £2,605, surpassing our goal of £2,000 — and we’re aiming even higher this year. Grief touches everyone — whether through bereavement, separation, or life-changing loss — and at Liverpool Bereavement Service, we believe no one should have to face it alone. Your donations help us provide free, professional counselling for adults and creative therapies for children and young people through our Oakleaf Service. 💚 How you can support: - Donate: Every contribution funds free, life-changing support for those in need. - Share: Help us spread the word. - Join us: Run, jog, or walk alongside our LBS Santas on the day! 📅 Liverpool Santa Dash — 7th December 2025 ⏰ 5k: 9:30am | Mini Dash: 11:00am | 📍 Pier Head, Liverpool Together, we can make every step count — and help ensure no one in our community has to face grief alone. 🌿 Donate here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eBRPnFd5 #LiverpoolBereavementService #SantaDash2025 #Fundraising #CommunitySupport #GriefAwareness #CharityRun #LiverpoolCharity #HopeAfterLoss #Oakleaf #Wellbeing #LBS

As a dedicated charity, we offer 1:1 counselling for adults, children, and young people across the Liverpool City Region. Grief is deeply personal, and everyone’s journey through it is unique. We support individuals facing all forms of loss, including sudden or traumatic bereavement, the loss of a child, miscarriage, stillbirth, and more. We are home to Oakleaf, our specialised service supporting children and young people affected by bereavement, loss, and separation. Oakleaf offers both 1:1 counselling and group sessions for young people up to 25, using various therapeutic techniques like expressive arts and play therapy, ensuring that children and young people can explore their emotions in the way that best suits them. Families are also supported throughout the grieving process, helping everyone understand and navigate the impact of loss. At Liverpool Bereavement Service, we believe no one should face grief alone, and we are committed to making our services accessible to everyone. As a charity, we rely on donations to continue offering this vital support. We are grateful for the generosity of our supporters and volunteers who help us provide care to those in need. 💚 This Movember, we’re shining a light on something often left unspoken — men’s grief. For many men, the messages start early: be strong, don’t cry, keep it together. But when loss happens, those expectations can turn silence into isolation. At Liverpool Bereavement Service, we see the quiet ways men carry grief — through work, responsibility, and holding things in for others. Yet, the truth is: speaking about loss doesn’t make you less strong. It makes healing possible. This Movember, let’s keep the conversation open — about men, mental health, and the many ways we experience and express grief. 🌿 LiverpoolBereavement.com #LiverpoolBereavementService #Movember #MensGrief #MensMentalHealth #GriefAwareness #Wellbeing #HopeAfterLoss #CommunityCare #LiverpoolCharity

Did you know? Across Mexico and Latin America, Día de los Muertos — the Day of the Dead — is a time to remember and celebrate those who have passed. Through stories, photos, music, and shared meals, families honour their loved ones — not in sorrow, but in connection and gratitude. Grief may look different across cultures, yet its essence is universal: love, remembrance, and continuing bonds. However you choose to remember, your way of honouring those you’ve lost matters. 🌿 https://lnkd.in/eGja6BbE #LiverpoolBereavementService #GriefSupport #DayoftheDead #CulturalRemembrance #CommunityCare #HopeAfterLoss #GriefAwareness #Wellbeing #LiverpoolCharity

Did you know? Long before Halloween became the celebration we know today, it began as a moment of remembrance — a time when people paused to honour those they’d lost. Across many cultures, this season symbolises transition: light to dark, summer to winter, presence to memory. It’s said to be a time when the veil between worlds grows thin, helping us feel a little closer to those no longer with us. Whether you light a candle, share a story, or simply take a quiet moment tonight — every act of remembering is an act of love. 💚 If grief feels especially close right now, please know that support is available. 🌿 LiverpoolBereavement.com #LiverpoolBereavementService #GriefSupport #CommunityCare #HopeAfterLoss #GriefAwareness #Wellbeing #LiverpoolCharity #RememberingLovedOnes

Today is World Menopause Day — a reminder that grief isn’t always about death. Sometimes, it’s about the quiet changes we go through as life shifts around us and within us. For many, menopause brings a deep sense of invisible grief: grief for a changing body, for fertility, for youth, or for parts of identity that once felt certain. These feelings are valid, and they deserve to be spoken about with compassion and understanding. At Liverpool Bereavement Service, we recognise that loss takes many forms — not all of them visible. 💛 #WorldMenopauseDay #InvisibleGrief #LifeTransitions #LiverpoolBereavementService #LBS #MenopauseAwareness #Menopause #GriefSupport #Compassion #YouAreNotAlone #LiverpoolCharity

💚 Your donation makes a difference — right here in Liverpool. At Liverpool Bereavement Service, every penny you give helps someone find light in their darkest moments. It costs around £30 to provide one counselling session — whether that’s for an adult, a grieving parent, or a child through our Oakleaf service for young people. Every session matters. Every pound helps keep our doors open, our rooms warm, and our lights on — so we can continue to offer free, specialist bereavement support for anyone in Liverpool who needs it. Our counsellors are highly trained volunteers who give their time, compassion, and expertise freely. Many are qualified therapists, counsellors in advanced training, or professionals with years of experience. They’re the heart of what we do — supporting clients through our: 🌿 Adult Service 💛 Baby and Child Loss Service ☘️ Oakleaf Children & Young People’s Service Each person who walks through our doors is carefully matched with a counsellor best suited to their needs — whether that’s someone experienced with child loss, trauma, neurodiversity, or long-term grief. We’re so proud to be able to offer this work free of charge, but we can only do it with your help. If you can, please consider donating today to help us continue offering care, compassion, and hope to our city. 📲 Donate here: https://bit.ly/3WEWi1v 💚 Thank you for helping us keep this vital service free for Liverpool. #LiverpoolBereavementService #GriefSupport #DonateForGood #Oakleaf #LiveerpoolCharity #MentalHealthMatters #Counselling

Liverpool Bereavement Service reposted this
On Friday at Merseyrail we supported World 🌎 Mental Health Day World 🌍 Mental Health Day was a chance to talk openly about how we’re really doing, break down the stigma, and remind each other that support is out there. This year the theme was Access to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies. With so much happening around the world, it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed. What matters is knowing that you’re not expected to handle it all on your own. We wanted to learn from our colleagues about what more we could do when disaster hits in your own life. Whether it be a child falling ill, the loss of a loved one or things just getting too much, we want to be able to support you in your time of need. To mark World 🌍 Mental Health Day our Mental Health First Aiders and champions were out across our network. They were sharing helpful resources which included • Information about our Mental Health First Aiders • Details on bereavement support available internally and externally with Liverpool Bereavement Service • Health & Wellbeing Page on our intranet The Loop • Small Notebook to jot down your thoughts and reflections The role of our Mental Health First Aiders and champions was to make time for our colleagues and listen, of course they were armed with tea, coffee and biscuits 🍪. It is understandable that opening up can be tough. But sometimes, a simple conversation over a cuppa ☕️ can make a big difference.💕 #healthwellbeing #mentalhealth
