SDSU's presence soared at the 2026 AIAA SciTech Forum in Orlando, where 44 students and faculty from the College of Engineering participated in the world’s premier aerospace research gathering. Among the attendees were 13 students representing the AIAA SDSU Student Branch and 12 from the Women of Aeronautics and Astronautics (WoAA) SDSU. Many delivered their first professional presentations to standing-room-only audiences, while SDSU faculty contributed as session chairs, technical committee members and expert panelists. The university also celebrated top honors, including the AIAA Best Paper Award presented to Ph.D. student Chris Davami and Prof. Ping Lu, and the Outstanding Section Award received by Prof. Luciano Demasi on behalf of the AIAA San Diego Section.
