Mableton is at a crossroads. As we grow into our own city, we’re facing a big milestone: figuring out how to pay for public safety.
Recently, the City Council approved a Public Safety Special Service District (SSD). It sounds like technical jargon, but it’s actually the setup for a new tax. The city needs to pay Cobb County $9.5 million this year to keep our police and emergency services running.

This was no ordinary litter pickup; the small crew spent their morning tackling abandoned items ranging from small debris, wrappers, and plastic bottles to evidence of illegal dumping, including old tires and car parts.
The Mable House Arts Center officially ushered in the holidays by hosting their spectacular Lights the Night kickoff on November 22nd.

On Wednesday, November 19th, Cheri Bailey and a network of volunteers hosted the Friendsgiving Soul Food Buffet at the Mableton Banquet Hall, feeding over 400 people in just the first 90 minutes, 540 in total.
