Norway’s Ullevaal Stadium Transforms Playing and Entertainment Experience With FIFA Quality Pro-Certified TLC for LED® System From Musco
The Vision
The national stadium of Norway and home to Norway’s national football team, Ullevaal Stadium holds a special place in the hearts of Norwegians across the country. The venue opened in 1926, and throughout its history has hosted events ranging from the Norwegian Football Cup, to UEFA Women’s Euro matches, to concerts by internationally-acclaimed artists including Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Slated to host the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in 2026, stadium ownership determined the time was right to upgrade Ullevaal with new LED pitch lighting. They envisioned a system with the most advanced LED technology for the best possible playing, viewing, and entertainment experience as a way to honor Norway’s players, fans, and football history.
The Impact
Project leaders at Ullevaal first partnered with Norwegian electrical contractor Asto Elektro, and together they set out to find the highest-quality provider of LED stadium lighting. Though they had never worked with Musco, Asto Elektro was aware of Musco’s unique complete-system design and its reputation lighting the biggest and best sports venues in the world. Additionally, as the first-ever FIFA Preferred Provider for Floodlight Systems, Musco’s customized TLC for LED® system at Ullevaal would create a stadium experience matched by only a handful of other venues across the globe. After a smooth installation, the system’s performance has been an overwhelming success, creating an ideal, stage-like setting on the pitch while also delivering a world-class entertainment experience with special effects capabilities that integrate seamlessly with third-party systems for cutting-edge light shows.
We chose Musco because they offer a complete and proven system for stadium lighting and we know their solutions meet the highest standards. Musco has long experience with large arenas around the world, so we knew we were in safe hands.
