Gaming News Persistent lobbies return and 'traditional' matchmaking at launch for Black Ops 7!

The official Call of Duty X account has confirmed that with the launch of Black Ops 7, Persistent, non-disbanding lobbies will be returning to Black Ops 7 multiplayer. That's not all, it's also said that there will be traditional, non-SBMM matchmaking at launch with 'minimal skill consideration'. So what does this mean? Well, for gamers and players of the CoD series for a long time, like myself, this is a good thing. This means lobbies will not be complete sweat-fests due to skill-based matchmaking. This means that your lobbies won't get harder the better you do in your games. The connection to a lobby will be focused on just that, connection/ping and not based around your skill level by some crazy algorithm.

TL;DR: Roblox is overhauling its social features, introducing age verification via facial scan or government ID for teens seeking unfiltered chats with "Trusted Connections." This system, powered by identity firm Persona, helps ensure age accuracy while addressing privacy concerns by deleting biometric data after 30 days. Users over 13 can enjoy less moderated chats, but interactions with adults require real-life verification to prevent predatory risks. Despite relaxed rules, Roblox maintains oversight on chats to mitigate exploitation. This move aligns with global trends in age verification, alongside new features like online status control and screentime limits to enhance safety and well-being.

An easter egg has been found in the upcoming "Grind" map in Black Ops 6 Season 2, which is a remake of the original map from Black Ops 2. Within the map, which is a skatepark, you can see a date of 3-4-25. Which translates to March 4th, 2025. Speculation is that this is the reveal date for a new Tony Hawk project. Which was also confirmed via a podcast slip-up earlier this week by professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones claiming he'll be in the "new remaster" coming out, and that he was also in Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1&2. There was no leaks or knowledge of a new game being made up until this point aside from Tony hawk stating he was in talks with Activision on working on something together. Well it seems like now it's been confirmed through this easteregg.

Via a tweet by Charlie Intel to which Tony Hawk himself responded to, it looks to be legit. Being that the date is 3-4-25, putting on our tin-foil hats...

As we head into the October 18th 2024 edition of Smackdown, it would seem a change has been made to The Motor City Machine Guns' (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) WWE debut match!

It was first planned that they would be facing Los Garza but this has been changed and they will not compete in a triple threat tag team match against Los Garza and A-Town Down Under.

This debut had been teased a lot and it was only recently that WWE confirmed the signing in a video with the Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis.

This match is part of the number one contenders for the Bloodline's WWE Tag Team Champions, with the winners of this match facing the winners of another three-way match between DIY, The Street Profits, and Pretty Deadly which will take place on October 25th.

At this time it is still unclear when the eventual challengers will face the current Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa...

During The Game Awards show last night, Sega dropped a teaser trailer outlining that they have games from their old IP catalogue all in deveolpment right now. The games series mentioned were:
Jet Grind/Set Radio
Crazy Taxi
Shinobi
Streets of Rage
Golden Axe.

They ended it with "And more." We aren't sure what "More" means but we're super excited for new entries from these classic games. Personally, I'm excited for the last 3 entries listed. I do love me some Crazy Taxi though. I just hope they get licensing sorted so we can have a banger soundtrack like the offspring from the original game.

What are your thoughts? Are you excited for this announcement? Are you a Sega fan? Personally, I'd love to see them reveal a new console but that is a pipedream that just won't come true I'm sure.

Here is the trailer for you to see for yourself:

If you are a long-time player of Fortnite and tend to follow the leaks, you will know that speculation around Peter Griffin or Family Guy coming to Fortnite has been going on for years and it seems that we are finally getting the skin in the game!
