Our plan for a plastic-free Mediterranean

It is estimated that there are more than 1.1 million tonnes of plastic in the Mediterranean Sea, and an additional 229,000 tonnes are added every year. To reverse this situation, Gravity Wave follows a strategy based on three pillars.

1

Investigation

To understand the waste present in the Mediterranean and identify its points of entry

2

Action

To remove the plastic already in the Mediterranean, stop new waste from entering, and transform it into valuable resources

3

Alliances

To secure the necessary funding by joining forces between companies and organizations

Leading brands committed to the ocean alongside Gravity Wave

More than 200 companies have already joined our movement, driving the clean-up of the Mediterranean and transforming plastic waste into new, valuable resources.
