Math Innovation is thrilled to host David Radke for an Ask-Me-Anything on February 5, 2026!

David Radke (PhD '23) is a Senior Research Scientist with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He works as part of the Hockey Strategy and Analytics team, helping to evaluate players, teams, and strategies from in-game data to assist coaching and roster construction decisions.

In this rapid version of a hackathon, participants will be teamed up at the event and work together to ideate, research and brainstorm solutions to problems in the domains of housing development, using AI for smarter urban transportation, building sustainable infrastructure and advancing sustainable mobility all in 3-hours.

Co-hosted by the Waterloo Climate Institute, the Office of Indigenous Relations, and the Faculty of Environment, the evening is part of the University of Waterloo’s commitment to aligning our strengths to support  Sustainable Futures.  The event will open with a keynote address by  Isaac,  followed by a thoughtful conversation between  Isaac and University of Waterloo’s Elder  Myeengun Henry and Amanda St. Marie. Together, they will explore the vital role of Indigenous perspectives in understanding climate change, shaping climate action, and sustaining community-rooted resilience. Attendees will gain insight into the power of story and art, the urgency of environmental stewardship, and the transformative potential of Indigenous leadership in today’s climate movement.
