Chris Wysopal is the Chief Security Evangelist at Veracode, responsible for enhancing the company’s industry presence, advocating robust security practices, and fostering customer and peer relationships. Prior to co-founding Veracode in 2006, Chris was vice president of research and development at security consultancy @stake, which was acquired by Symantec. In the 1990s, Chris was one of the original vulnerability researchers at The L0pht, a hacker think tank, where he was one of the first to publicize the risks of insecure software. He has testified to the US Congress on the subjects of government security and how vulnerabilities are discovered in software.

Chris is a highly influential and sought-after voice in the software security industry. He is the author of “The Art of Software Security Testing” and was instrumental in developing industry guidelines for responsible disclosure of software vulnerabilities. MIT Technology Review wrote in 2019 that Chris “has worked for decades to demand secure technologies from influential tech companies.”

Chris received a BS in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In his free time, Chris enjoys photography and hiking the conservation trails near his home outside Boston.

As Chief Marketing Officer at Veracode, Karen Buffo brings more than 18 years of global security expertise, with a proven track record of developing and executing marketing strategies that deliver value to customers, partners, shareholders, and employees alike.

Prior to joining Veracode, Karen held leadership positions at MixMode, Anomali, The Symantec Enterprise Division of Broadcom, and Oracle. Throughout her career, she has defined and implemented comprehensive global marketing initiatives that strengthen brands and drive worldwide growth. Karen’s multifaceted background in strategy, business enablement, and global marketing provides her with a holistic perspective on companies’ distinctive capabilities, opportunities, and growth drivers—resulting in sustainable business value.

A recognized industry keynote speaker, mentor, and active contributor to the cybersecurity community, Karen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Consumer Science and Business Administration.

Simon Adell serves as Chief Financial Officer at Veracode, based in Burlington, MA. He joined the company in June 2025, where he leads all financial operations, including strategic planning, financial reporting, and the company’s growth initiatives.

Simon brings more than two decades of experience in financial leadership, with a proven track record of scaling high-growth technology companies and driving operational excellence. Prior to joining Veracode, he served as Chief Financial Officer at several innovative technology companies, including DataCamp, TripleLift, and iLevel Solutions, where he guided organizations through periods of rapid expansion.

Simon holds a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Queen’s University. He has earned multiple professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations, establishing comprehensive expertise across accounting, finance, and management disciplines.

Anthony Barkley serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Veracode, where he drives customer engagement, retention strategies, and go-to-market execution. With more than 30 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity, Anthony has built a reputation for accelerating revenue growth, architecting high-impact go-to-market strategies, and developing high-performing teams at industry-leading organizations.

In his role at Veracode, Anthony partners with executive leadership to operationalize strategic priorities and reinforce product vision while enabling field teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Prior to joining Veracode, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at Devo, where he led end-to-end revenue generation and customer value optimization throughout the customer journey. Anthony’s career includes leadership of major acquisition integrations, including @stake into Symantec and Pivotal Software into VMware. He spearheaded global go-to-market strategy for VMware Tanzu’s Application Platform and held a senior role in Symantec’s Security Intelligence Group, where he advised enterprise clients on security strategy, threat intelligence, and industry trends. He was also instrumental in developing and launching the Symantec Cyber War Games program worldwide.

Recognized for his expertise in strategic sales execution, team leadership, customer success, and operational excellence, Anthony is passionate about mentoring emerging technology and sales leaders. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Business/Computer Graphics from North Carolina State University.

Iman Abbasi serves as Chief People Officer at Veracode, based in Burlington, MA. She joined the business in July of 2025, with the responsibility for leading the human resources strategy for the international cybersecurity company with over 450 global employees. Iman oversees comprehensive HR leadership including strategic design and business alignment, compensation and benefits, workforce analytics, organizational development and change management, diversity initiatives, succession planning, recruitment, and HRIS.

She brings approximately 30 years of progressive HR experience, to the team, with a deep expertise in transformational HR function development. Most recently, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Plume Design Inc., a Palo Alto-based SaaS company with over 500 employees across 15 countries, where she led the international HR function. Previously, she held the same role at Symbotic, a $1 billion advanced robotics company in Wilmington, MA, with over 1,100 employees across North America. Earlier in her career, Iman spent 18 years supporting multiple CEOs within LexisNexis Risk & Information Analytics businesses, based in Alpharetta, GA. There, she contributed to HR leadership for an organization with over 24,000 employees in nearly 40 countries and a market capitalization of $68 billion. Her experience also includes VP of HR roles at Thomson Reuters and Bank of New York. Throughout her career, Iman has provided strategic HR guidance for over 30 acquisitions.

Iman earned her BA in Psychology from Montclair State University, graduating Cum Laude. She resides in North Andover, MA, with her husband and triplets, and serves as a member of the Forbes HR Council.

David is the Chief Revenue Officer of Veracode. As the CRO he leads the global sales, customer success, sales operations, field enablement and technical pre-sales teams focused on driving revenue for Veracode.
