In Riyadh and Dubai, “Density and Identity” is not just a theory, it is the live question shaping how entire city districts are planned, financed, and built.

The VU Summit will use both cities as laboratories to explore the tension between global prototypes and place-specific design, asking how high-density urbanism can respond to climate, mobility, and housing pressures while strengthening identity instead of diluting it. Density and Identity: Shaping Skylines, Elevating Culture is an invitation to help define the next generation of tall buildings and urban districts in Riyadh, Dubai, and the cities that will follow.

The summit will kick off in Riyadh with two days of exciting programming on Monday and Tuesday, then carry on to UAE with a Dubai Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening; additional core programming commences in Dubai on Wednesday morning. Join us in Riyadh, Dubai, or both!

VU Summit registration will be launching in March.

Giga-projects such as New Murabba, Diriyah Gate, King Salman Park, and Green Riyadh are reshaping the capital at an unprecedented scale, aiming to support rapid population and economic growth while improving livability, mobility, and environmental performance.

Dubai, UAE

Dubai provides a clear example of how a mature skyline can evolve, adapt, and shape the global conversation on vertical urbanism grounded in culture, community, and long-term sustainability.

The city remains one of the world’s most recognizable and vertical, but its next chapter is focused on depth, connection, and cultural resonance—a skyline evolving toward more connected districts, where tall buildings are asked to support walkability, public life, and a richer cultural narrative.
