Listen up, because I don’t appreciate having to repeat myself, especially not when the information I’m about to give is so ludicrously simple that if you didn’t already know it you might need to consider going back through school.
The FCC wishes to regulate the internet insofar as reclassifying it to a “telecommunications service”, which, if you had actually bothered to READ the telecommunication services act, would only apply strict laws barring any business from restricting access to any network or reducing the quality of service for anyone who is on said network. The act was originally designed to prevent Ma Bell (that’s AT&T these days) from blocking other telephone companies from using its existing network of telephone lines. In the few areas where it DID allow them to use its network, it restricted the quality of their service to the point that most people switched to Bell anyways. ( continuesCollapse ) |

Is this cartoonist really trying to say the Stewart/Colbert event was a bunch of hoohah and that the GOP is doing the righteous and honorable thing by actually getting out the vote? The assumptions I have to er, assume they're making are tremendous. Democrats don't have a get-out-the-vote effort? (Republicans didn't just effectively destroy part of the Democrats' get-out-the-vote effort by outlawing the existence of ACORN?) The rallies didn't raise voter awareness and make at least some people look past the shrieking and fear and vote what's actually best for them? The look on the guy's face bothers me. He hates people who want to get past the fear and the unreasonable shrieking and hair-tearing and just live our lives and have a republic we can be proud of again? Yeah, hyperbole but seriously, the look on his face. It's like, "fuck you, reasonable people!!" |

The HHG2G audioplays are getting annoying at the end here. They found some kind of lame excuse for working Sandra Dickinson into the plot; I find her voice and her lack of voice-acting skills annoying at best. I'm only partway into the first episode of the 5th part and they've already made Fenchurch and Earth Mark 2 abruptly vanish and Dent's now wandering aimlessly trying to get back. I was really enjoying it up 'til now but this 5th part seems pasted on and hastily thrown together. It better get better or I'mma have a very big sad. |

But Airbender was pretty good. Oh it didn't knock my socks off as I'd hoped it would, but it was very watchable and I was definitely hoping for the sequel (which I know will never come because all those spoiled a-holes out there that thinks every movie has to be as good as Iron Man have shitcanned it). The acting's a bit off and y'know, the timing wasn't quite right, the fight scenes and stuff had these... uncomfortable pauses... but it is a LOT of fun and like I said, I wish there was gonna be a sequel 'cuz I'd pay to see it. The F/X are kickass and the story is nifty, the visual design rocks too. I say y'all should go check it out. |
