What is a bobbin?

When I was little, my parents were simultaneously in grad school, and I stayed with my grandparents often. Grandma (姥姥) operated a foot pedal sewing machine and made clothes, curtains, and even insoles when she wasn't overseeing the local trading company during the day. I found her jar of buttons one day, and she taught me how to sew! Bobbins hold not only threads, but know-how that amplified the production of textiles. Likewise, culture is wound, and we weave worn stories into new ones.

Made in China, raised in Texas. East Coast schooled, West Coast worked. I have been to Burning Man, and I read the Bible. I like EVERYTHING, and I look for the divine in everyone.

My name is Xi. I currently work as an engineer on data sovereignty projects. Heritage belongs to the world, but data, personalized, house dignity. Freedom and trust during our lifetimes empower us to visit Dante's Fixed Stars (Faith, Hope, and Love).

Once upon a time, I studied cultural anthropology, and culture shock still runs me over to a smile. I treasure my time spent on that small town ranch in rural Texas as much as Istanbul and Berlin. I hang on to recipes and probably swiped your hometown's dance moves when I was there.

Values

I pray that I will one day be blessed with ambitious daughters and gracious sons. If I could only pick three stats, I'd ask them to work on kindness, curiousity, and determination.
