1988
Founded as “MIT Group, Inc.”
1995
The company started researching
and learning networking
1996
Became a Novell Platinum partner. MIT Group moved from a software development company to focus on Networking
1997
Signed first major client, The Baltimore Orioles. Moved headquarters to Columbia, MD
1999
Became a Microsoft GOLD Partner
2001
Started selling/implementing 3Com phone system for clients
2003
MIT Group, Inc. started the “dba” of XPERTECHS
2006
MIT Group, Inc./XPERTECHS purchases and move to current headquarters in Ellicott City, MD
2008
Introduces “XperCARE” Fully-Managed IT Services
2010
Mike Mellott Jr. becomes the first member of the second generation to join the family-owned business
2013
Baltimore Business Journal names XPERTECHS to the Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies list
2014
XPERTECHS appears on the MSPmentor 501 list for the first time (have appeared every year since).
2015
Purchased second office for service delivery team expansion
Expanded Into the Texas market and opened a Houston office
Joe Mellott becomes second member of the second generation to join the family-owned business.

Named one of the Top 15 Microsoft Office 365 Providers in the Mid-Atlantic
2017
XPERTECHS first appears on the CRN MSP 500 & Pioneer MSP 250 lists. Introduces a new offering of Managed Security as part of XperCARE.

MIT Group, Inc. celebrates its 30th Anniversary Obtained Microsoft Gold in Three Competencies
2020
XPERTECHS introduces their managed cybersecurity offering, DEFEND.
2023
XPERTECHS celebrates 35 years of rewriting the rules of IT services
2024
Mike Mellott Jr. advances to XPERTECHS President as Michael Mellott transitions role to Founder and Chairman.
