Hi Everyone. Just thought I'd let you know about this game recommending site (still in beta) that I'm using (pretty much all platforms are represented). I've found it pretty helpful in finding new games to play. I was the first tester of it so I've been using it for a while. You can use your facebook or twitter accounts to login. The best part is, it's free to use. http://reccr.com Just in the interest of full-disclosure--it's my husband's site. He's creating it with some friends. I have nothing to do with the site itself aside from testing. So, if you like games, go check it out! They're eager for additional users. -N |

Please get out and vote today people! If Martinez is elected, someone I love dearly risks losing the only medication that does anything to help their chronic health condition. If you already voted for Denish, thank you.

I think I'm going to start seriously job hunting. I was somewhat thrown under a bus today and this may be the last straw with this job. Now for the hard part: revamping the resume (honestly, it's the most stressful part of job hunting for me--weird huh?). |

Hi Everyone, As many of you may know, I have a brother who has MS. He was diagnosed a few years ago. Each year I donate to the National MS Society to help them help my brother and others living with this debilitating disease. My donation is usually sponsorship of my friend and co-worker in Walk MS. This year, I've decided to take a more active role. I've joined Mary's team for the walk. Please consider joining our team or sponsoring our team. Thank you!!! http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Walk/NMXWalkEvents/411992458pg=team&fr_id=13214&team_id=202780 |

Today has been a wonderful day thus far! This morning my MIL came over and watched A. while I went out for a massage. It worked out perfectly--A. was just starting to get a tiny bit fussy when I got home.
Once I got home, we went down to Daily Grind for lunch. I had a turkey burrito with their house salad and an iced latte. I adore their house salad! I also had their wonderful raspberry sorbet. My MIL, FIL and husband were all there.
Now, A. and I are hanging out around the house until 5 (unless we're suddenly struck with the urge to go on an adventure). We may do a bit of shopping in an hour or so. It's hard for A. and I to stay away from the bookstore for very long. I'm having a marvelous time sharing the books I loved as a young child with A.
Tonight, we're all going out to dinner! Yay, best birthday ever! |

I signed up for a facebook account today to connect more with my cousins and other family far far away. I planned on never really using it at all. I'm weirdly cracked out on it. I'm amazed by the number of people I've run into. I'm now suddenly reconnected with and talking to my long lost best friend from elementary school, multiple cousins and more distant relatives, high school friends/acquaintances.
I even ran into the profile for the kid I threw up on in 3rd grade (it was an accident, but a great triumphant one at that--that little bastard had it coming). No, I didn't friend him, but I could.
All in all it seems a great waste of time that can be accomplished while feeding the monkey.
The monkey is doing well, btw. -n. |

| Wow, posting to livejournal that I wasn't in labor seemed to induce labor! |

Amélie has been born and is home and happy and healthier than I was as an infant (also much cuter). She was born at 10:32 pm on Thursday. 7 pounds 6 ounces, 20 3/4 inches long.
I honestly was not in labor at all when I posted my previous entry. It all started at noon when my water broke pretty suddenly while I was eating a sandwich. I had a natural delivery. The only time I really thought that I'd like an epidural was as she was crowning (only because it slows labor and my contractions were constant). In retrospect, it's really better that the pushing phase wasn't any longer than it was--that was really, really hard.
We're doing well. I'm pretty tired. -n. |

No, I am not in labor, not even early labor. My daughter hasn't decided on an exact birthday yet. Her due date is D-day. |

Hi Everyone, Things are good. For anyone in the know, my health has improved the past few days--I've had very little pain since my appointment on Monday (and everything checked out OK). I was told to drink an incredible amount of water and to do some stretches each day. I'm considering getting back into yoga because I don't feel up to ballet (maybe this summer?).
In work news, I have a new assistant, J. She's great! I think we get along really well. She also is picking up the terminology etc., very quickly! I'm starting to feel less overwhelmed which makes me very happy.
So, what's new with you? -n. |
