Personality:
Kotone’s friends know her as a cheerful, energetic, kind, and dependable young woman. At school, she would greet her friends with jokes and laugh as if it were a completely natural thing to do. Most people would just think that Kotone is an average girl. On the surface, she engages in regular activities like working part-time jobs, shopping, playing games, and she even spends time singing karaoke. In truth, Kotone is anything but ordinary.
There’s a lot more to her than just optimism and sunshine. Deep down, Kotone is actually depressed. She suppresses her true feelings behind a mask that she wears every day. It’s important to mention that she also hides her weakness. She has difficulty showing her vulnerabilities to others, and that's especially true for strangers. The reason why she does this is simply because she'd prefer to internalize her feelings. Music is one of her major methods of coping. The types of music she listens to often reflect her mood, such as the song “Burn My Dread.” Another thing to note is that Kotone still carries around a music player during the dark hour when electronics don’t function. Her attachment to music is reflected in her Persona, Orpheus. In Greek mythology, Orpheus is a legendary musician who traveled into the underworld to save his wife, Eurydice. But unlike Orpheus, Kotone never looks back. She often lives in the present, treating every moment as if it were her last.
When she was young, her parents were killed in a car accident on Moonlight Bridge. Ever since then, Kotone has struggled to find a place where she truly belongs. She would sometimes mention that she doesn’t have any friends or family. It’s often difficult for her to relate to other people and their struggles. That doesn’t stop her from trying. Her more melancholic demeanor shows more in the later months of October. The events leading up to the hospitalization of her peers left her in shock. She's sensitive to loss, and it tends to weigh heavily on her. Her sensitivity to loss also extends to the people around her as well as her peers. Kotone cares deeply for those she considers companions. She wouldn’t hesitate to put their well-being above all else. This isn’t to say that Kotone has a complete lack of self-preservation. She often faces perilous danger in order to protect what's most important to her. This is represented by her Evoker, where she points a gun to her head to summon her Persona. Her strength to overcome these hardships comes from her own relationships. Eventually, Kotone grows into a young woman capable of making sacrifices for those she cherishes.
Time is very precious to her. She understands how short life is because of her relationship with death. The first time she awakened her Persona, it had gone berserk, and she summoned Thanatos. Overwhelmed by its power, she passed out on the roof of the dorm. Sometimes she’d receive warnings about ‘the end’ drawing near. Her responses suggest that she’s aware of the reality that people tend to ignore. When confronted with death, Kotone’s not nearly as bright and energetic. She’s also known to have maturity handling these issues. Her companions in SEES often confide in her for advice and companionship. Mature beyond her years and resilient in many ways, Kotone’s not just a cute girl.
Her fiery temper comes out during stressful periods of time. Kotone has a habit of being violent whenever she is mad. She takes it personally whenever her friends are harmed in any way. When Kotone gets mad, she tends to be more reckless and sometimes even impulsive. If anyone were to threaten her friends, she would simply punch them in the face. This is shown to us during her interactions with Strega. She threatens to harm both Jin and Takaya for putting her friends in danger. Kotone isn’t afraid to speak her mind in the face of adversity. She’s also quite sensitive to betrayals and always takes them personally. If Kotone’s trust has been breached in any way, it may be difficult for her to open up again. She rarely loses her temper towards her friends, but if she does, then she's quick to apologize all the same. Over time, Kotone learns how to channel her anger towards the many cruelties and injustices of the world.
What most people don’t know is that Kotone is constantly lying to herself. She wants to pretend everything is alright when it’s not. When Kotone interacts with others, she tends to relate to those that have suffered like her. Her major relationships would be with SEES, her classmates , and some of the people living in Tatsumi Port Island. Her role in SEES plays a major part in shaping her journey. She’s promoted as the team leader, where she often has to make quick decisions that would affect her team’s survival. Kotone must confront the truth about Tartarus and the Dark Hour which leaves her feeling complete existential dread.
Powers/Abilities:
Kotone has the ability to summon a Persona. A Persona is a manifestation of an individual's psyche. They often take the form of mythological or sometimes even fictional figures. In Kotone's case, she can summon Orpheus.
Another one of her abilities is to wield multiple Persona. However, in Route 666 she'll be unable to access many of these abilities. The only Persona she'll be able to call at the beginning is Orpheus. Orpheus has the following skills:
Agi : Small fire damage to a foe.
Bash: Deals light strike damage to a foe.
Tarunda: Decrease one foe's attack power.
Inventory:
A portable music player
Her evoker
A naginata
Game Plans: I think Kotone would be super cool in this setting! She's used to seeing monsters from her encounters during the Dark Hour! It'd be neat to have her interact with the other characters and see how she grows as an individual too. The Persona series often focuses on relationships and the struggles that come with being a young adult. Kotone won't be afraid to face hardship or potentially life-threatening situations. She undertakes dangerous missions with her role in SEES which makes her appropriate for the game. I want her to interact with the different monster types too.
Monster Choice:Fae - Fairy
Celestial - Angel
Merfolk - Merrow
Vehicle Choice: A Red MBW Motorrad with Fast quality!
