Our vision is to build a “Peaceful and Sustainable world”.
YfPI envisions a peaceful world of empowered individuals and sustainable societies.
Our mission is to develop young people through Peace Education and Civic Engagement. We aim at developing personal-professional competencies of Youth through experiential learning methodology thereby incubating a project created and executed by them through a designing-thinking approach of problem-solving.
At YPI we commit to providing creative and sustainable solutions to address ‘Glo-cal’ problems and venture safe spaces for the culture of dialogue and discussion to proliferate.
With peace we all can win together. Youth for Peace International (YfPI) is a youth‑led peacebuilding organisation that envisions a peaceful world of empowered individuals and sustainable societies. We work with young people, educators and decision makers to transform conflicts, heal communities and nurture a culture of peace.
On 9 December 2015, the United Nations’ Security Council unanimously adopted the first ever Resolution on Youth, Peace and Security (S/RES/2250). This ground-breaking resolution recognizes that “young people play an important and positive role in the maintenance and promotion of international peace and security”.It is an historic acknowledgement of the critical role of young people’s role in supporting durable peace which will bolster the work of young women and young men engaged in efforts to prevent violence, reconcile communities and resolve conflict. It will also significantly impact development policies and programmes on youth and peacebuilding.
We design and facilitate structured learning programmes on peace education, conflict transformation and mindfulness for youth, children and educators.
These programmes draw on real community experiences and practical tools, helping participants to connect global ideas on peace with their everyday realities.
We stand with communities affected by violence, displacement and everyday stress, prioritising mental health and psychosocial wellbeing. YfPI supports Rohingya refugees in India through trauma-sensitive care, education and dialogue, while our youth-led national mental health helpline offers free, confidential emotional support. Through mindfulness and peer initiatives, we help young people and communities manage anxiety and resolve conflict peacefully.
We amplify youth voices through creative online campaigns, storytelling and youth‑led dialogues on peace and human rights. YfPI also contributes to policy discussions on implementing the Youth, Peace and Security agenda in India and the wider region, connecting grassroots experiences with national and international platforms.
