Blatherings of an Extroverted Bookworm

Anyone local to me willing to take on a knitting project for me? When we went to the Doctor Who convention last month, there were prizes in the game room. Milo threw our tickets into the one prize bag, and he got it. Four skeins of yarn, knitting needles, and a chart for a design that has Doctor Who references. Yeah, I knit not at all. Anyone interested in giving it a swing, and I'll pay you for the end result?

I have a cache of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" film memorabilia I want to put on ebay. Poll question: should I do it soon, or hold onto it for another year for the 10th anniversary of the film's release? What would you do?

The fact that these paintings have been stolen have feeling emotionally nauseous. I'm just glad that at least the fucker didn't cut them out of the frames.

I'm currently reading a biography about Queen Victoria, and so I am especially appreciating this.

There Was Never Any Pay Day for the Negroes

A Jersey City couple returning from their engagement party was killed recently in their neighborhood. I've kept thinking about them in the back of my mind. A beautiful, happy couple with the rest of their lives ahead of them...they'd most likely be alive today if they had just gone to the diner after the party like they were asked. I mean, for that to be the decision to have your life and the life of your loved one balanced on, going home instead of the fucking diner. Such a stupid, shitty, random thing to happen and I hope they find those soulless bastards who killed them and throw the book at them and then some.

There's been an uptick in murder and violence around here lately, the nice weather have the scum out in force. Makes me a little crazy and nervous. I've lived in this city my whole life though, and I know that crime cycles, it's just....:/

It's also kind of fucking with my head a little how FAMILIAR that young woman looks to me.
