About the ZEBAI project

Funded by the European Union with €3.8 million under the Horizon Europe programme, the ZEBAI project aims to develop an innovative methodology that redefines Zero-emission building design.

about the ZEBAI project

The ZEBAI project aims to integrate various analyses and decision-making processes into a comprehensive framework, enabling simultaneous evaluation of energy performance, environmental impact, indoor environmental quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Imagine a world where you could instantly gauge the energy efficiency of a building, its environmental footprint, the comfort of its indoor spaces, and its overall cost all at the same time. That’s the promise of the ZEBAI project.

This groundbreaking initiative is creating an all-in-one platform that seamlessly blends cutting-edge analyses and decision-making tools. By harnessing this integrated framework, we can ensure buildings are not only green and cost-effective but also comfortable and sustainable, revolutionizing the way we design and evaluate our built environment.

Novel holistic methodology

ZEBAI aims to develop holistic methodology integrating various analyses and decision-making processes for building design, encompassing energy performance, environmental impact, indoor environmental quality, and cost-effectiveness.

AI optimisation

We will use AI to design Zero emission buildings. This will let to optimise the material and system selection, making design faster, easier, and more eco-friendly.

Material database

ZEBAI will build a database of well-defined material and assess performances gaps to improve design accuracy.

Scalable zero energy buildings

ZEBAI strives to optimise new architectural designs for scalable Zero Energy Buildings (ZEBs). These designs will be applicable across diverse climates, usages, and building patterns. 4 new buildings will be constructed to demonstrate that the new AI-based methodology foster the development of zero emission buildings.
