Tactical multiplayer shooter game

Zero Hour is a premium action game for PC developed by M7 Productions and Attrito. It is a tactical first-person shooter featuring multiplayer gameplay with up to 10 players. In it, they will engage in cooperative missions as they complete a variety of different objects across multiple locations inspired by Bangladesh.

Similar to games like Bodycam or Squad, Zero Hour offers players a hyperrealistic experience with resource management and highly interactable NPCs that contribute to deeper immersion and high stakes. Assessing the situation and acting quickly will make all the difference in succeeding or failing missions.

Gritty and grounded

Zero Hour primarily takes place in various locations based in Bangladesh with multiple mission scenarios to take on. The game has two game modes, with the first being the main campaign wherein you can team up with nine other AI-controlled teammates to form a squad and tackle said missions. Doing whatever it takes to succeed while keeping civilian casualties to a minimum if not zero.

There are more than 15 maps with unique layouts and highly interactable objects. Choose from over 20 weapons and 15 utility gear to create your loadout before heading out, with an emphasis on resource management. The game makes the whole experience more grounded and immersive by having you interact with NPCs who can help assess the situation and gain insights about suspects/targets.

You even get a K9 companion to provide support during your missions. Then, there's multiplayer gameplay for five-versus-five matches with other players online. Choose from modes including bomb defusal, hostage rescue, and team deathmatch. Now, if you're planning to mainly want to do the main campaign, you have to deal with AI teammates who are just awful and get in the way more than help during missions.

Flawed but with potential

All in all, if you're looking for a new multiplayer tactical shooter to play with friends, Zero Hour offers a pretty good experience with immersive missions, various gear loadouts, and different modes. However, if you're after a good single-player campaign, this falls short, particularly, due to its poor AI implementation. Depending on what you want, give it a shot and see for yourself.
