Yesterday was quite possibly the most awesome and amazing day I have ever had or will ever have in my entire life.

OMG amazing and free NASA all-access whatnot.

That is all.

I have lost my camera cord. Boo. It must be somewhere.

Here's exactly what I wrote on 9/29/06:
Went out and found this, cause it's easier than writing it out:
On Sep. 29, 1995, at Tavares Middle School in Tavares, FL, Joey Summerallwas shot [at] some 13 times with a 9mm semi-automatic pistol [and fatally wounded].

Fourteen-year-old Keith Johnson, who had been kicked out of his home that morning, arrived at school and encountered Joey who had tried to pick fights with him in the past. Keith pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and emptied the clip into Joey for "running off at the mouth" on him.

UPDATE

May 4, 1996 -- A teenager who last summer fatally shot a 13-year-old student at Tavares Middle School with a semi-automatic handgun has been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Circuit Judge Don Briggs also sentenced Keith Johnson, 15, to five years in prison for carrying a concealed weapon and five more years for grand theft of a firearm.

Johnson was found guilty Thursday night of the Sept. 29 shooting of Joey Summerall.
---------

Keith will be eligible for parole when I'm 63, actually. So, it's really not life without parole.

Afterwards, he ran off campus, and no one really saw what happened, so no one knew who they were looking for. This was outside my homeroom, which was in a corner of the library. Keith was in the library before this. Our class was supposed to be out in the hall when it happened, but we were going somewhere and didn't know if we were being called over the intercom or if we were supposed to go when the bell rang. We waited. My teacher was the first one out there. He locked us in our room and we had to sit on the floor so we couldn't be seen. We were in lockdown for 3 hours, cause Keith ran off and had to be found. He was hiding in an orange grove. We couldn't leave our classroom without going under crime scene tape. I had to stay at school the rest of the day, because mom worked in Orlando and didn't know..even if she did, she couldn't've left. Eleven years later, this still really bothers me. It bothers me that not many people remember. It bothers me that it was senseless. It freaks me out that I was supposed to be out there. It makes me glad that though Keith was a fucking moron and shot a whole clip, Joey was the only one hit.

Yes, I know I post this every year, but it bears posting. And you won't have to see it again for a year. I find it a disservice to Joey's memory not to post it.

Eustis was totally wanged by a tornado last night at about 10:30. Which was when I went to bed because all of the severe weather stuff showed it around Leesburg/Lady Lake (which was where the tornadoes were in February, NOT Eustis, like NBC National News reported) and there was NOTHING near here. It did pour around 10:15, though. In fact, it's pouring now.

Our power didn't even go out.

When I went into intern this morning, the teacher next to mine was watching the news about it. It was the whole Bay St./Lakeshore Dr. area of downtown.

In other news, my supervising teacher bought me a school shirt for spirit day because I am a part of the school family. It was awesome and touching.

PS: Trying to decide between Chicago and NYC. If I go to Chicago, is anybody gonna come see me?
