The Innerspace Series
„Innerspace is a year spent with my family, hand-crafting a small world where my inner space came alive through images.“
The Innerspace series is dedicated to women artists from various disciplines, whose inner worlds and creative processes the author explored through personal encounters and conversations. Inspired by their work, she crafted each photograph within a hand-built scene, constructed together with her family in the intimacy of her small studio.
Innerspace Series, 2024, „Autoportrait“
„She reveals a deep sensitivity for visual storytelling and a profound respect for women’s creativity.“
About the Artist
Zuzana Fajmonová focuses on stylized portraiture, which she combines with hand-crafted sets and props. She constructs imaginative worlds where each photograph is based on detailed sketches, visual concepts, and carefully planned compositions. Body painting is often an integral part of the final image, enhancing both its expression and meaning.
Zuzana is deeply interested in the inner world of the human mind, spiritual processes, the search for inner peace, and themes of introspection and self-discovery. She offers viewers a suggestive glimpse into the realm of creative inspiration, where visual aesthetics intertwine with emotional depth. Her photographs become a complex statement – sensitive, thoughtful, and visually powerful.
She involves her entire family in her projects, with her husband and two young children helping with the creation of sets, making her work a true family affair.
In addition to her artistic photography, Zuzana Fajmonová also creates commercial work, where she brings her artistic vision to life, blending creativity with business needs to deliver visually compelling projects. In addition to her work, she is the founder of Kreativna, a creative school offering workshops to share her passion for art, and lectures at secondary art schools.
„Each image is the result of a long-term, deeply thoughtful process that combines inspiration by paintings and surrealism. „
Pop-art Series
„This series was created during maternity leave, in a modest apartment, without professional equipment. „
Extravagance, stylization, the saturated visuality of advertising, and the codes of mass culture — these are central themes of contemporary life, shaped by consumerism, the pursuit of luxury, visibility, and fleeting fame. What is celebrated today may be obsolete tomorrow. This series, however, was created in stark contrast to that world — during maternity leave, in a modest panel apartment, without professional equipment, lit only by an ordinary bulb or daylight from the window. Surrounded by two small children and supported by friends — new mothers themselves — the artist transformed everyday moments into a shared creative process, turning limited means into a space for imagination and artistic dialogue.
„Her artwork has been featured internationally, by prestigious institutions.“
