Is it free?
Yes. Free gives you 5 single-link downloads, 1 batch and 2 transcripts every month, plus thumbnails, Watch, Library and updates with no cap. Pro removes the caps and unlocks playlists, clips and the converter for USD 8.99 a month; the 7-day pass gives you the same for one week at USD 3.99, with no renewal.
Does it use artificial intelligence?
No. Transcripts use the captions YouTube already generated or the creator uploaded, cleaned into plain text with a prompt at the top so you can paste it into your AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude…). That's why it only works on videos that have captions, and why it costs nothing.
Does it work with YouTube today?
Yes. AppGrabbit uses yt-dlp, an open-source project that adapts to YouTube's changes almost daily, and the app updates it on its own. If YouTube asks your network to 'confirm you're not a robot', the app explains it and it usually passes within hours.
Which platforms are supported?
YouTube (videos, Shorts, playlists and Mixes), TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, Pinterest, Twitch, SoundCloud and many more through yt-dlp. Vimeo is out because it requires signing in.
Is it safe? Why does Windows warn me when installing?
Your files are processed on your PC and never uploaded anywhere. The app only contacts our server for the license, the free quota and anonymous usage counters. The 'Windows protected your PC' notice appears because the installer doesn't carry Microsoft's paid signature; click 'More info' and 'Run anyway'.
On how many computers can I use my license?
One at a time. If you switch computers or reinstall Windows, move it from the app (up to 3 times every 30 days) and the previous one goes back to Free.
How do I cancel?
From the License section in the app, with 'Manage subscription': cancel, change your card or see your receipts. You stay Pro until the end of the month you already paid. The 7-day pass doesn't renew, so there's nothing to cancel.
Does Watch download new videos from a channel by itself?
No, on purpose. Watch checks the channels every six hours and flags in the menu which ones have something new; you open it, see the video and decide whether to download or transcribe it. It never grabs whole channels or downloads automatically, and it does not use your YouTube account.

Extension for Chrome, Edge and Brave
Adds a button to every video that sends it to the app without copying the link. It is optional: the app works the same without it.
- Download the ZIP and unzip it into a folder you will not delete.
- Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions), turn on Developer mode and click "Load unpacked" with that folder.
- Click the extension icon and "Connect with AppGrabbit": the app opens for a moment and hands over its key. Nothing to type.
- Open a video: the Grab button appears. With AppGrabbit open, it sends the video to the queue.
