What's new in version 12.0.3
Enhancements and changes:
- Changed the way that Spotlight indexing is suspended on a volume before unmounting it to prevent a full re-index when the volume is re-mounted.
- We no longer allow the user to store Sync Task documents in a cloud-managed folder.
- Enhanced the cloud-managed folder readiness check to better differentiate between iCloud and File Provider Extension managed folders and to properly suggest a change to the user.
- Changed the scheduler so when it attempts to locate Sync Task documents associated with scheduled items, it will no longer attempt to mount file servers where those Sync Tasks may be stored.
Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug whereby changing the connection profile but preserving target path, such as when changing from ‘Mounted Volumes’ to ‘Mounted Volumes(Admin Access)’, would result in failure to refresh the Analyze Panel if the target folder was subsequently changed.
- Fixed a bug in the cloud-managed folder readiness check that would fail to suggest switching to an iCloud or File provider Extension connection type if BOTH target folders were cloud managed.
- Fixed a crashing bug that occurred when trying to retrieve or set a Finder/Spotlight comment on macOS 27, Golden Gate.
- Fixed a bug that could lead to a crash when verifying the existence and properties of Sync Task documents displayed in the Organizer window.
- Fixed a bug identifying bootable volumes on macOS 27 Golden Gate.

Just tested v12 and the good thing is it still runs and works great on 10.14. I found a little issue, though, while syncing to a ZFS dataset: Chronosync throws an "error -50" on many files, especially .webloc where CCC or SyncTwoFolders work ok! Couldn't find the exact reason. I had no issue with the same folders on HFS or APFS. Another little annoyance too: the "admin access" mode is still displayed but unavailable (the last version where it worked was 4.9.5...)

Most used App that I have ever purchased. I have been using ChronoSync since my first MacBook Pro in 2008 and now using it on my 2022 M1 MacBook Pro. Keeps all my files in sync between my three computers and my NAS drive. Best money I've ever spent and they provide lifetime upgrades. Thank You!!

1) I recently tested ChronoSync against Carbon Copy Cloner on a non-system backup and ChronoSync was way faster. 2) I often had a hard time syncing to another Mac and only recently used ChronoAgent (to be installed on the destination Mac) and it really made the grade! The only downside I could find is that it's not always obvious to find the correct settings in specific situations, but once you have it's great.

It is very thorough and secure, the setting options are excellent, it doesn't break once a file is not copyable. In this way, it helps enormously to perform good backup and even data recovery. It is worthwhile to get acquainted with it in care of the data. Looks like the Rolls-Royce of sync programs. Support is responsive if really needed.

If you upgrade to CS 10, please note. The format for Tasks that you define has been upgraded to support new features. WHen you run a task for the first time after updating to 10 you will be prompted to Confirm if you want to update file format for the task to new 10 format. Once converted that task can't be loaded or run in older version of CS If you only have one copy of CS and don't intend to revert back to older version, you should be okay to Confirm yes. If you have multiple copies of CS or share tasks across Mac or other people (like on a network) and they haven't upgraded to CS 10, you may NOT want to convert to new format. I upgraded to CS 10 and latest CAgent 2 and have had no issues at all, including backups to cloud storage (BackBlaze B2 and Amazon)
