About the Project

GYMYG

GYMYG is a virtual fitness platform that connects clients with certified trainers for live, interactive training sessions over WebRTC video. Three distinct roles — Client, Trainer, and Admin — each get a purpose-built experience within the same platform.

Unpacking the architecture, innovations, and real-world results

01

Technical Architecture

The platform is engineered on a modular, services-oriented architecture that prioritizes low-latency media and horizontal scale. Interactive sessions are powered by WebRTC with adaptive bitrate streaming and TURN/STUN resilience. A Node.js services layer coordinates real-time state, scheduling, and payments, backed by MongoDB with rigorously designed schemas and TTL-based event retention. Infrastructure on AWS leverages autoscaling, managed queues, and full-stack observability (metrics, logs, traces) to ensure reliability under bursty traffic. Security is enforced through tokenized access, scoped permissions, and encrypted media signaling.

Key Features & Innovation

Personalized, AI-assisted programming calibrates plans to user goals and adherence signals. Biometric and session telemetry enable safe progression and intelligent recovery recommendations. Matching pairs clients and trainers using multi-factor availability, specialty, and satisfaction signals. Rich community features—live classes, asynchronous content, and moderated chat—foster accountability and retention. Admin tooling provides granular role management, refund workflows, and compliance-ready audit trails.
