Inspiration

We thought startup culture would make a funny game. You’re pitching AI products, hiring engineers, raising money, and trying to survive long enough to exit. We wanted the pressure of Overcooked, but you’re running a startup.

What you can do

Hire engineers and creators, build products, deal with things breaking, and pitch investors using your voice. Every raise buys you more time but gives away some of your company. The goal is to exit before you run out of cash, and still own enough for it to matter.

How we built it

We built Overvalued with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Three.js. Claude handles investor conversations, while the game code handles the money, equity, and offers. We used AI coding tools throughout development and made voxel characters, an office, and investor rooms to bring it together.

Challenges and what we learned

Getting everyone’s work into one playable game was the hardest part. We spent a lot of time fixing merge issues, models clipping into furniture, and a 3D phone that refused to render correctly.

We also learned that letting an AI investor talk is easier than making that conversation work as a game mechanic. We needed clear rules for when an offer happens, what it’s worth, and when the player can sign. It’s a hackathon build, so there’s still balancing and polish to do, but the loop is there: build, pitch, raise, repeat, and hopefully leave with some equity.

What we’re proud of

The small details give the game its personality. Garry gets happier when you mention AI, creators post on the in-game X feed, and firing someone sends them flying out of the office. We got the office simulation, investor conversations, and funding loop working together in one hackathon.
