What is Anon Wallet?
Anon is a privacy-first browser extension wallet for Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks. It combines the convenience of a standard wallet with the cryptographic privacy guarantees of the Railgun protocol.
When you send or receive funds with a typical wallet, every transaction is permanently visible on the public blockchain — the amounts, the participants, and the timing. Anon changes that.
The Three Pillars
Security — You control your wallet keys. Authentication uses WebAuthn passkeys or Argon2id password hashing. All sensitive data is encrypted at rest.
Privacy — Railgun uses zk-SNARKs to protect private balances and transfers inside its pool. Shielding and unshielding involve public addresses and amounts; timing and other public activity can still reveal information.
Control — You remain self-custodial. You control spending; public activity and service request metadata remain visible where described in these docs.
