Signed nodes Radios on firmware 2.8 sign what they broadcast. A node whose signature your radio verified now shows a green radio-and-shield badge beside its name, and there's a new Signed filter in the node list. Contacts you verified in person keep the filled person badge, so the two kinds of trust stay easy to tell apart. Nodes on 2.8 show signing state in place of the older lock icons; radios on earlier firmware keep the locks. Sharing contacts Share Contact is now on the Connect screen as well as a node's menu. The app will no longer share a contact with an empty public key, which could clear the key the receiving radio already had. Nodes you have no public key for are kept out of the contact list and no longer offer a Message button, since those messages can't be delivered. Firmware updates Over-the-air updates for ESP32 radios hold the connection through the reboot, over Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth, and stop cleanly if you close the sheet. When a radio refuses an update, the app explains why instead of repeating the firmware's wording, and a stuck update can be closed. Radios on unsupported firmware stay connected so you can update them. Messages Favoriting someone from a direct message sticks. A direct message row updates when the recipient's own acknowledgment arrives. Message lists refresh when something changes instead of polling for it. Nodes and settings The app offers to remove nodes that no longer share a channel with you. Traffic Management tells you whether it suits your node, and its time fields use interval pickers. Saving LoRa settings no longer assumes the radio reboots, and the region banner clears properly afterward. Long names are capped at what a 2.8 radio will keep, and Ambient Lighting now applies to the right radio when configuring another node. Backups Database backups are keyed to the radio's device id rather than its node number, so a radio that changes node number keeps one backup instead of collecting duplicates. Connecting A lost Bluetooth bond ends the reconnect loop instead of retrying forever. Available radio names refresh on the Connect screen, and swipe to disconnect reads as the destructive action it is. Appearance The dark theme uses the palette's own dark blues, and tinted buttons and confirmation actions are readable in dark mode. Also in this release: improved Korean translations, and product links now disclose that they may earn a commission.
