Signed is a flat monthly subscription, and that's the whole
pricing model. We don't take carry, we don't charge a percentage of
what you've invested, and we never move money on your behalf — so a
good year in your portfolio doesn't turn into a bigger invoice from us.
Free is a plan, not a trial. Five positions, tracked with the same
marks, the same MOIC and IRR, and the same QSBS clock the paid plans
get. It doesn't expire and it doesn't ask for a card. When you reach
five, Signed stops you adding a sixth and asks you to upgrade; it
never quietly deletes or hides what you already put in.
Angel and Investor open with a 7-day free trial.
Checkout takes a card up front so the trial converts by itself rather
than locking you out mid-quarter, and you can cancel any time before
it ends without being charged. Paying for a year up front is
two months free on either plan.
Everything after that lives in Settings → Billing: change
plan and Stripe prorates the difference on the spot, or open the
billing portal to swap a card, pull an invoice, or cancel. A cancelled plan
runs to the end of the period you already paid for, then drops to
Free — your portfolio stays exactly where it is, and you can
export all of it on the way out.
Questions about the bill
Is the free plan actually free?
Yes, and there's no card and no expiry. Free tracks five positions with marks, MOIC, IRR, TVPI and DPI, the QSBS clock, search, and the MCP server. It's the whole product at five positions, not a two-week look at it.
What happens when I reach five positions on Free?
The five you have keep working exactly as they did. Signed stops you adding a sixth — by hand, by forwarding a deck, or by importing a file — and asks you to upgrade. Nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden behind a paywall you didn't agree to.
How does the free trial work?
Angel and Investor start with a 7-day free trial. Checkout collects a card up front so the trial becomes a subscription on its own; cancel before it ends and you're never charged. It's one trial per account, not one per plan.
What does paying annually save me?
Two months. A year of Angel is $290 instead of $348, and a year of Investor is $1,490 instead of $1,788. The product is identical either way.
Can I change plans later?
Any time, from Settings → Billing. The change takes effect immediately and Stripe prorates it, so you're only charged the difference across the time left in your billing period.
How do I cancel?
One button in Settings → Billing opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel, swap the card, or download past invoices. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you've already paid for, then drop to Free. Your data stays where it is.
Do you take a percentage of my portfolio?
No. Signed is a flat subscription. We never take carry, never charge on assets under management, and never touch your money — which is why the price doesn't move when your portfolio does.
How do payments work?
Cards, in US dollars, through Stripe. Signed never sees or stores your card number, a receipt is emailed on every charge, and promo codes can be entered at checkout.
You haven't answered my question.
Email [email protected] and a person will read it. If Signed isn't doing what you're paying it for, say so — we'd rather fix it or refund you than keep billing a plan you aren't using.
