Why I built Kit

My team and I work as fractional recruiters: we join companies to help them hire for as much of their week as they need us. I've hired more than 50 engineers while building a team from scratch. I've also lost candidates because we took too long to reply.
I built Kit because I was tired of the same obstacles. “Contact us for pricing” meant booking a call before I could even work out the cost. I also wanted AI tools that could read our candidate records and work with them, without copying details between a recruiting tool and a chat window.
Today, we use Kit ourselves: in the browser, through ChatGPT, and from Claude Code. Resume extraction, interview booking, and reminders take care of work we used to coordinate by hand. We want to spend our energy getting to know people, having good conversations, and making hiring decisions.
My starting point is simple: a candidate should know what comes next, and the team should know who is waiting on them. A private link opens the candidate's next task or interview booking. The team's worklist shows reviews, overdue decisions, and unanswered messages. Everyone has other work to do. Finding the next step shouldn't become another job.
Kit is used by engineering teams that work with AI every day and teams starting to use it. We give the screens and the AI tools the same care. You can start in the browser and connect an assistant when it helps.
I also needed a place for researchers to report security issues. That's where Kit's security portal started.
