Free, and staying free

The map is notthe thing you buy

No platform pays for placement and no listing is held back for paying accounts. The directory is the reason to trust the rest, so putting it behind a plan would sell the one thing that has to stay honest.

  • The whole directory, every platform
  • Every guide and the phased route
  • The lists, and every platform page
  • Reading it all with no account at all
Questions about paying
Do I need to pay to use the directory?
No, and there is nothing to sign up for either. The directory, the guides, the lists and the route are open to everyone, and so is qualifying a product and planning a run. Paying is for the part where your agent fills the forms: the free plan covers 10 of those.
What counts as a submission?
A platform. It counts once, from the first time your agent asks for the brief that fills its form, and it stays counted. Everything around that is free: reading the platform, working out whether you qualify, planning the run, and recording what came of it afterwards, however it went. Being briefed again for a platform you have already spent one on costs nothing, so fixing a listing is free. The free plan carries 10 of them, ever; Indie carries 100 a month and the count starts again when it renews; Studio and Unlimited do not count them at all.
How many products can I track?
1 on free and 1 on Indie, Studio carries 3, and Unlimited is as many as you like. Each product keeps its own facts, its own run and its own submission history, so a second one starts clean.
What happens when Indie runs out?
Nothing you have already tracked changes. Indie counts the platforms your agent was first briefed for in the current billing period, so the count starts again when the plan renews: waiting works. Moving up to Studio lifts it straight away, and a platform you have already been briefed for is free to brief again on any plan.
What happens if I cancel?
Everything you have already tracked stays readable. What stops is writing new ones past the free limits. Nothing of yours is deleted because a card expired.
Is the lifetime license really one payment?
Yes. $250 once, no renewal, nothing to cancel later. It is a one-off payment in Stripe rather than a subscription with a long interval, so there is nothing scheduled to charge you again.
Can I pay before I hit a limit?
Yes. Open your plan from the dashboard and pay whenever you like. The free plan is generous on purpose, so most people do not need to, but nothing makes you wait for a wall.
