What does a workload cost?
Tilebox charges for your plan, task execution time, catalog metadata, and telemetry beyond the included allowances. A task-hour is one hour of recorded task execution, summed across tasks. Ten tasks running for six minutes each use one task-hour, even when they run in parallel. It is not a CPU-core-hour or the elapsed time of a job.
For example, 6,720 scene-processing tasks recorded at six minutes each use 672 task-hours. Assume 2.3 GB of catalog metadata, 8 GB of telemetry, monthly Production billing, and no add-ons. This is an illustrative monthly budget, not a performance benchmark or quote.

The example uses monthly billing regardless of the plan selector above. The $200 usage subtotal is added to the $249 base fee. It is not the full cost of running the workload.

Add compute or hardware, imagery and output-file storage, data transfer and provider egress, commercial imagery licenses, and any external APIs or AI models. Tilebox catalog storage measures metadata, not the raster files it references. Open-data access does not include a subscription to commercial imagery or waive a provider’s access terms.
Measure a representative run on your intended infrastructure, including failures and retries, before projecting a monthly budget. Running near the data can reduce transfers; it does not guarantee zero egress or a lower total bill. Review what you operate and how to compare an existing pipeline.

Production overages use graduated rates. Each slice of additional usage is charged at its own rate—not one rate applied to the whole total.

A few practical details.
Does this include the compute running my code?
You bring your own compute and run Tilebox runners on your infrastructure. The prices here cover Tilebox, not your cloud or hardware costs. Unlimited parallel runners means there is no plan limit on their number; it does not mean unlimited task-hours or free machines. See the workload cost example.
Do waiting, failures, and retries use task-hours?
A queued task waiting for a runner or dependency is not executing. An idle runner does not consume task-hours. Once a task starts, recorded runtime includes time its code spends waiting on I/O or an external service; this is elapsed execution time, not CPU usage. Completed and reported failed executions are metered, so retrying work can add usage. Each recorded duration is rounded to the nearest second, with a minimum of one second.
How do graduated rates work?
Your included allowance comes first. After that, each band is charged separately. For example, the first 500 additional task-hours cost $0.30 each; the next 500 cost $0.25 each. Crossing a threshold doesn’t change the rate on earlier hours.
What changes when I select yearly billing?
Production is $199 per month, paid as $2,388 per year, instead of $249 paid monthly. Add-ons also have yearly and monthly prices. Included allowances and the published usage rates stay the same.
