I get to play Ocarina of Time with my son just like my dad played with me. Hopefully it doesn’t devolve into shouting at each other then printing out 4 pages of guide and still shouting about it during the water temple like last time :)

My namesake son is learning how to write his name so our fridge is decorated in signed artwork. People keep asking if it’s my art. I’m so tired of the joke I now just say that I have chronic AI brainrot so I’m returning back to basics. Shuts down the convo right away

“I know so little math for someone in my position that frankly I sometimes feel like a fraud.” For me, I would just delete math in this quote and it summarizes my daily afternoon crisis of self. But it’s also a great reading list that I need to start on.

My least favorite statistician line is: “The best thing about being a statistician is you get to play in everyone’s backyard.” It makes us sound like uninvited guests—or varmints. Why are we “playing” in all the yards? No wonder people are excited for Animal Control ( AI)

I realized we weren’t teaching our students how to review so I walked mine through my ICML reviews as a way to teach them how I approach it. I wasn’t sure if people find them useful but just got word I was a “gold reviewer” so at least it’s some signal I’m directionally helpful
