It was so great to visit these students at Bancroft Elementary School in Spring Valley! I got to make friends with the TK and Kindergarteners and hosted a mini town hall with the 5th graders, who asked so many smart questions about our government.

I visited the new San Diego Family Justice Center, also called Your Safe Place, which provides comprehensive support services to survivors of domestic violence, abuse, and gun violence – including help filing restraining orders to remove firearms from dangerous abusers.

This was unfortunately foreseeable. That’s why Congress needs to enact my Defense AI Reliability and Reporting Act, that was in the House-passed NDAA. It would require prompt reporting of near misses like this and a coordinated process to find and fix the underlying failures.
