John Schneider said Brett Bateman “jammed his right hip” and the Blue Jays will “take it by day by day” with him.
Asked if Anthony Santander is ready to backfill if needed, Schneider said: “We’ll see how he's feeling … we'll be in touch with him for sure.”
Blue Jays say Brett Bateman left the game with right hip discomfort. He underwent X-rays which showed no fracture.
