These fly traps work really well! Although I have used fly traps in the past, I am seeing improved results this season. The bags do their job well, but I have also stepped up my game. Along with 2 at the house, I have also placed additional traps in the pen and barn areas where livestock tend to frequent. I change these out with fresh traps about every 30 days as they are either full or dried out. Adding water to extend life of the bag tends to yield reduced efficiency. At the house, I hang the bags on what is the, predominantly, windward side (south side for where I'm at). This effectively draws the flies away from doors & porches as they pick up the scent, carried on the breeze, better. For the livestock, I hang them by feed stations, water troughs, shade areas, etc. I have seen a huge drop in the number of flies, including horn flies on cattle. Changing bags is easy if you use a small s-clip or d-ring (carabiner) to attach the bag to the wire or cord you are hanging it on (see attached photo). Takes me less than a minute to open, add water & hang a new bag.

Living in a farming community in Pennsylvania, flies can get BAD during the warmer months. I bought these fly traps and within 2 days I already noticed a significant decrease in flies around the house and outside areas.
I’m giving them a 4/5 only because they didn’t come with lanyards or hooks for hanging, so I ended up using zip ties instead. Honestly though, that was an easy fix.
As for the odor...people complaining about the smell should remember this is literally a bag filling up with dead flies. The packaging even warns you about it, so I don’t think that’s a fair reason to lower the rating.
Also, buying the multi-pack here was cheaper than what I found in local stores in PA. Definitely worth the money and I’ll absolutely be buying them again

This thing really attracts flies, it’s almost to effective for how many flies it gathers. Within a couple days it turned from a bag full of water to a bag full of dead flies. Definitely don’t put anywhere near where you have foot traffic. Otherwise it can’t get much more effective.
