Hi! I’m April (it/she), a girl from Manchester, United Kingdom. I’m interested in Java, reverse engineering, compilers, and low-level systems work.

Away from computers

I enjoy modding games and playing Minecraft, Deadlock, Forza Horizon 6, Life is Strange, Stardew Valley, and a few others. Celeste has taken up most of that recently. I finished it not long ago and enjoyed it a lot.

I’m from Manchester and I love it. The city’s public transport is one of the things I appreciate most; in my free time, I love walking around or simply getting on the tram.

Work

I’m a JDK author focused on JIT compilation and garbage collection. Most of my free time goes into OpenJDK, where I’ve been working on a number of pull requests, and I’ve written about the JVM extensively.

I also do security research around the Windows kernel and other low-level systems topics, which is where CVE-2026-58532 came from.
