Breeze para Mac

I assume that most who wander in here, wondering what the hell happened with Breeze, will be past users. I have the lowdown. See here: http://gngrwzrd.com/ That's the page of Breeze's original author, Aaron Smith, who sold Breeze to Autumn Apps about 14 years ago. Since then, Autumn Apps abandoned Breeze & Aaron rewrote it as Better Window Manager, which is available for $5 on that same page. Today (8/24/24), Aaron says "I haven’t had to make any updates to BWM for years and probably won’t make any significant feature additions." But if you're a fan of Breeze, I can testify that Better Window Manager is just as good! It's basically the same app: - lives in your menubar - uses the same intuitive freeform window-placement method - same saveable keystrokes &c It's just rewritten in modern code & hence more likely to survive macOS updates. So go for it! Throw Aaron a sawbuck.

Does not appear in the Mac App Store for me.

Is Breeze abandonware? There's neither a contact link nor an email address on their website. Here, then, for anybody who's been wondering about it is a direct d/l link for the (got absolutely no idea why it's a secret) 64 bit version: http://autumnapps.com/downloads/Breeze1.5.13.zip

Breeze is invaluable, but the update schedule (if it exists) is obscure. See comments below by artie505 . . . If you're looking for the latest version of Breeze, see the dev's directory, here: http://autumnapps.com/downloads/ As I write, the latest version # is 1.6, which installs & seems to run on OSX 10.10.5 just fine (haven't tried it on macOS).

How does this compare with Stay (https://cordlessdog.com/stay/)? Stay has been a huge help, but sometimes a bit quirky. It would be interesting to know if this really compares.
