My item was listed for 70$. Buyer paid $70 plus $8.40 shipping plus sales tax 7.08. My selling costs/transaction fees were $12.03 and then $8.46 for shipping label. Bringing my earnings to $57.97 when it was all said and done the deposited amount to my bank account was $48.77. Please help me understand. 

It seems like we haven't resolved the shipping calculator issue. I just adjusted my weight from 3 pounds to 1 pound 2 ounces - and it now costs me 2 dollars more to ship. Did not change dimensions. Am I just supposed to be dishonest and leave it at 3 pounds to get the cheaper rate - and not screw myself out of 2 dollars??? I guess lying is the way of the world now.

eBay should give sellers a temporary “Packing Window” button in Seller Hub . Here’s the real-world situation: I already have sold items to wrap and ship tomorrow. This would be the perfect time to alert interested buyers: “The Seller (YOUR STORE NAME) is packing tonight. Make an offer now and your item can ship tomorrow.” The seller could: • Select eligible listings • Set a short window, perhaps one to three hours • Notify watchers, cart shoppers, or other interested buyers • Accept, decline, or counter offers normally • Have the alert expire automatically after the packing cutoff This would not require permanently lowering the public price or running a storewide sale. It would create genuine urgency, help sellers combine shipping trips, produce faster handling, and give eBay another opportunity to convert interested shoppers into buyers. To prevent spam, eBay could limit how often sellers use it and only notify buyers who have already shown interest. Would other sellers use a “Packing Window” or “Ships Tomorrow Offer” feature?

There have been many posts about this and I doubt eBay will change but maybe someone at eBay will take notice.... It is so in your face.... This is the first thing people see when they log in.... it does not represent anything other than eBay Live. It's never ending with totally tacky ads and people who don't have a clue.... It's like TikTok on steroids.... is eBay now a wannabe home shopping network or trying to beat out TikTok? This whole eBay Live marketing program belongs on a separate webpage!

Nondescript small item ordered back in June with an original estimated latest delivery date of July 13, as each delivery date approached I would get an eBay notification with a later date (the last one saying "Estimated delivery date updated to Fri, Aug 14"), and that would appear on eBay "track package". Prior to this, it was July 24 and Aug 3. Last tracking entry, of July 26 says "hold in customs", presumably the USA but who really knows. No more updates, mailman came today, and package did not. Saw a new notation on purchase history saying "return window closed August 12". And it says that if I try to report it as not received and contact the seller. Wonderful, no item, no money. So let me get this straight, I get notified by eBay that my delivery date is changed, and this doesn't change the original date of reporting it not received? (30 days past July 13). To the credit card company this goes. The shipper is something called SpeedPak, item was from China (only place item was available at the time, or Japan). Very disappointed.

Who in there right mind changed the listing photo layout and set it up this way??? First, the original with only 1 main enlarged pic is totally fine, look at literally every e-commerce site ever (that I can think of) ... there is 1 enlarged pic and you can scroll through the rest ... now I can see up to 5 enlarged photos (awkward) and the rest are hidden unless I click a tiny button saying "see all X photos". I literally almost missed it. This is ridiculous for me as a buyer and I can only imagine the buyers that will try to return items claiming they didn't see the defects or know there were additional pics because this new layout is not intuitive at all. This is one of the most consequential and absolutely bone-headed changes eBay ever made. I hate it as a buyer and I hate it as a seller.

We have been selling on Ebay since 2011 with a steady record of customer satisfaction, great service and impeccable reputation maintaining a 100% positive feedback until today. Buyer decided to buy one of our gemstone lots. A day after purchasing and while the order was shipped and in route to her, she contacted us asking to cancel the order. I told her that the item was shipped and she needs to get it first and then if she doesn't like it she can return the item, as we offer 30 days free returns. To this reply, she responded with :"Nevermind". Today she received the item. She sent me a massage telling me that all the gemstones are fake. I told her that we have been selling on Ebay and also on other platforms for many years and we are expert gem distributers and employ a professional gemologist. I told her that evidently all our customers are happy, we got thousands of successful transactions, and a steady following of happy customers who purchase time after time. We had never had a buyer accuse us of selling fake or synthetic gems, and we maintained a perfect score on Ebay 100% until today. But said all that we told her that if she doesn't like the items, she can return them, that was our policy all along, free returns. One would have assumed these facts to be self evident, elementary, and common sense. Not for her, she decided that she wants to keep the gemstones which she paid $95 dollars for. She then went and gave us one of the nastiest and slanderous feedbacks. And I ask what have we done to deserve to be treated like this? Why does Ebay let this charade to continue? why Ebay is letting buyers the chance to leave negative feedback without following through with the seller's offer to return the item for free? Why did I have to spend 2 hours on the phone on Ebay trying to resolve this? Why there is no better screening on Ebay and stronger penalties for buyers who lie, manipulate, slander, abuse and waste the time of sellers who only want to conduct good old fashioned honest business? I got a message from a buyer in the UK saying that when he tries to purchase an item I'm selling, he gets this message "Unfortunately, this seller won't ship to Middlesex, United Kingdom. You can: - Update your shipping address and try again. - Or find similar items from another seller." My items have always been available for international shipping in the past. When I look at Shipping Preferences in my Account, it says that I am enrolled in the eBay International Shipping program WTF?

Do you think sellers will switch to calculated shipping rather than free shipping because then the buyer pays for shipping? Just curious. I don't ship a lot that isn't media mail, things like magazines go with calculated shipping. I guess that might still be a problem if ebay doesn't charge the right amount of postage, I have not checked.
