About

Every piece of great literature has weathered storm and season.
Founded in 2026 by poet Talan Tee, Afterbodies believes in resurfacing the unseen. The roots of our philosophy trace back to the ocean’s wake—honoring ancestral crossings made with no promise of a shore, the borders we survive, and the vast, intersecting currents of our many homelands.
Afterbodies thus publishes high school and undergraduate poetry and prose, in response to the growing numbers of youth today who are made to feel marginalized or closeted. As a certified 501(c)3 literary nonprofit organization, we seek to publish the buoyant, the quirky, and the messy. Surprise us!

Limited Demographic: Submissions are restricted to writers under the age of 25.
