Drive By Uh-Oh

There's been a lot of drive by uh-oh's this week. It's when my little one walks by when I'm the laptop, turns it off, and then smiles and says "uh-oh."

He learned how to say 'uh-oh" last weekend one, and it's been his favorite word since! I'm probably not setting the best example by laughing when he turns off the laptop, but in my defense, Boo Boo is just so cute when he's grinning like that!

He's definitely in the nosey stage and nothing in a drawer is safe from him. This week he got the condoms out of my nightstand and was playing with them on the couch when I noticed it! I felt like the world's worst mom when I saw by 19 month old playing with condoms, then I just told myself he was lucky to have a prepared mom :)

I just totally had one of those WTF moments when I walked into my kitchen. There was so much stuff all over the floor! I naturally assumed the cats got into something. It took a full minute of staring before the "stuff" coalesced into an entire floor full of broken glass. Then, I saw my counter was also completely covered in glass, and that my IKEA Grundtal shelf had completely come off the wall on one side.

I anchored that sucker! With massively heavy duty anchors that were $13 a box from Lowes! Ah well, nothing much that can't be replaced. It's not like I ever use my oven anyway,despite the best intentions to do so, so having all my pyrex glass bake ware in a million pieces isn't the end of the world. Though it is a bit ironic, in that I just got rid of about 7 casserole dishes of varying sizes in an effort to declutter my kitchen. Now I have none. Extreme decluttering!

On the positive side, a couple of my funky colored Pyrex bowls survived! I love those suckers, and pick them up at yard sales and thrift stores whenever possible. They're pretty! Thank goodness most of my collection was on display in the dining room : ) And this really cool Pyrex Lipton coffee cup my Nana gave me when I first went to college made it through the Great Crash as well. That's really the only irreplaceable thing in my entire kitchen, so yay!

On a side note, oh my freaking god!!! Just saw the trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D!!! I'm so out of the loop with these things, lol. Looks freaking awesome, can't wait!

Late to the Dance

I'm so psyched to finally be checking out Dreamwidth! I've had a journal here for 4 years, and I've never used it except to occasionally check out fic! I am utterly clueless on how to do things here, but I'm ready to finally learn my way around.

1st Goal: GRAPHICS!!! I'm sooo bad at the whole layout and header thing, but I want a header! My first header ever :)
