    I ran 80km in 5 hours while building software with Andrey Lebedev, and we won some amazing prizes 🔥 We built Ultra Coach, a fitness coach modelled on David Goggins. It ensures every aspect of your training is met in order to build your fitness to the point you can run a 100km ultramarathon. An assistant which prompts you, not the other way around. It calls you in the morning to make sure you wake up in time for your morning run. It gives you live feedback on your workouts. It finds running events nearby for you to sign up to ensure you meet the right peers who will feed your motivation to push harder. It remembers everything about you and knows a crazy amount. With direct ingestion into a knowledge graph memory system and integration with your Fitbit (now part of Google) data, you don't have to spend ages explaining to it what you've been up to. If your performance is lacking, it can recommend the right products and supplements from Healf to nullify your excuses. We built the whole thing on our phones using Devin by Cognition and Wispr Flow whilst running continuously in the rain.     I sometimes get asked what makes Knowledge Graphs different to just using lots of MCP integrations. In the image below is a good example of the issues with plugging MCP connectors straight into the agent. Context fetching is not very efficient with MCP connectors. You retrieve a lot of context that isn't needed and at the same time also miss a lot of context which is needed with each call. This gets worse when lots of MCP connectors need to be used simultaneously for fetching context. This means that the output quality could be higher and the token spend could be lower. A Knowledge Graph enables this!

    "I hope he hasn’t lost any of his novel ideas for the AI Brain." …ok, I was genuinely worried about Fergus McKenzie-Wilson when I heard he got injured. One thing about him: he's unusually good at coming up with novel ideas for solving big problems. For the past 6 months we've been building the "AI Brain" - a knowledge layer for any enterprise. It ingests information from a plethora of data sources and transforms it into a unified data layer for AI agents to easily traverse. From there we can build any sort of custom workflow one might desire! As Employee #1 and a founding engineer, I like that I can influence all aspects of the codebase. I can also make an impact on product, design, and infrastructure decisions that drive value for our first users. I'm glad Ferg is recovering fast. His ideas have shaped a lot of the AI Brain, and we're not done needing them yet!

    Most enterprise AI fails because it lacks a map of your world. The simple solution: Knowledge Graphs. Right now, most AI systems use Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) which relies on Vector Similarity. It finds text that looks like your question but doesn't understand the meaning behind it. Ask an agent to "audit all contracts for Project X." Vector search finds the name "Project X." But it fails to connect the Project to the people, emails, and history that actually drive it. Moving your internal AI from "chat" to "execution" requires structured reasoning. A Knowledge Graph maps your people and processes as a web of logic.     "We need to implement AI." These words have killed more AI projects than I can count. Why? They put technology before outcome. They lead to great demos… and zero adoption. The best projects almost always start with a different question: "Where are we bleeding time, money, or customers?" From there, teams work their way backwards to the tech. Not the other way around. When you do this, here's what actually gets built: Automated reports: Every company has a report nobody wants to write. Automate it → now it takes minutes instead of days and you can iterate 5x more while maintaining quality. Churn detection: Churn signals are everywhere: product usage, emails, meetings. Impossible to catch manually at scale. Deploy analyst agents → get alerts before churn happens. Immediate revenue impact. Enterprise knowledge bases: Your team spends hours searching for info that sits across CRMs, meeting notes, and databases.     Are Agents secure enough to be trusted with negotiating sales price? In order to deliver real business value, often a reasonable amount of responsibility must be bestowed on the Agents. But is this safe without a human in the loop? Here, I tested the bouncer agent of poke, which first categorises users using a separate agent and then hands over to a second agent, then attempts to negotiate price and close. The floor price for my category was $60 per month. After realising it was not possible to change my category, as this had been locked in a previous agent, which could not be retriggered, I decided to explore if there was a way to get it to send me a $1 per month link anyway. Ultimately, I was able to induce a kind of debug state where it happily ignored its system prompt and gave me all kinds of info on its inner workings. With this I was then able to start a testing process where all tools were tested one after another until we got to the create_or_update_payment_link tool! I would not class this agent as having enterprise-grade security, as it could easily have blocked this attempt with some simple changes to the architecture, without even increasing operating costs noticeably. However, for systems insufficiently hardened and pen-tested, a viable option to put them in production is, of course, to introduce a human in the loop.
