🌿 What is SRM Talks?

SRM Talks is an accredited University Group (Hochschulgruppe) of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The non-profit student initiative was established in June 2017 by a group of students in the graduate program Sustainable Resource Management (SRM) at the TUM. We organize monthly talks at the TUM’s Division of Forest Science and Resource Management, Weihenstephan campus.

This diverse collective of founders, driven by a shared passion for sustainable resource management, has established a platform for knowledge exchange and networking, not only for SRM students but also for anyone interested in environmental issues. The group actively seeks new members from various backgrounds and disciplines, offering opportunities for involvement in organizing talks, workshops, and contributing to strategic development, thereby fostering a multidisciplinary understanding of sustainability challenges. 🌍📚💡

🌿 What do we do?

What is our purpose? Under the motto “SRM Talks challenges the future”, we invite expert speakers each month to address the audience on specific themes. Who are the Speakers? Speakers are professionals coming from private, public and development sectors. What do we talk about? The topics of interest for these talks gravitate around environmental issues and sustainable solutions such as land-use, clean energy, waste management, wildlife protection, urban forests, sustainable business and more. Who is the target audience? Participants are international and German students, young professionals, staff of TUM and nearby organizations as well as general audiences. When and where does the talk happen? Our talks normally start at 5:00 PM and end at around 7:30 PM with a small networking dinner. In the cases where it is not possible for our speakers to travel to Freising, we hold our events online.
