Needs A Hard Reset

My understanding of how a Large Language Model (LLM) / generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) work is that they are statistical computations. As such, an LLM does not have the capability of understanding or reasoning like we as humans do. Therefore, the use of anthropomorphic language when talking about GenAI is at best dishonest; even if you know nothing about the technology; because computers don't think, they compute.

Further more, there is no ethical use of LLM/GenAI; because it is a fascist project and exists for the enrichment of billionaire fascist oligarchs. With its pedigree firmly situated in fascism, it is not a surprise that its use is destroying the earth's ecosystems; it erodes human rights, especially for under served and marginalized communities. As if that was not enough, it has disastrous effects on your mental faculties with prolonged use and steals, at scale, hard human labor without consent and compensation.

I have, at one point or another, admired and looked for guidance from people to get better at a craft that I truly enjoyed as I progressed in my career in the tech industry. Only to live long enough to see that these same people have all willfully drunk the Kool-Aid from the fash-tech-bros. They don't care about any of the ethical issues with the technology, and selfishly are fine with the level of harm that is caused to the rest of humanity, and these people find it acceptable for their own benefit.

At this point, I don't know what else to do. The fashbros are continuing to destroy the communities I enjoyed, both online and in real life. The tech industry, with their willful complicity in fascism and genocides, I can't help, but hope that the tech industry needs a hard reset. Yes, we may lose some good software, and that will be unfortunate. However, in order to regain our humanity and sanity, we need that to happen.
